Welp, looking at box office earnings...
Looks like Avatar is shaping up to be the next Titanic. $23,500,000 yesterday in US alone on Christmas, its 2nd weekend and barely edged out by new release Sherlock Holmes. If I recall correctly Avatar made $24,000,000 in its first Friday, so only that tiny bit of a dropoff. US + foreign take-in already $416,454,953, so all it needs to do is not drop off much over the next couple months (i.e. like how Titanic's run was) and it'll be the biggest grossing movie ever. Go figure...I dunno how the hell James Cameron does it. Movies like The Dark Knight had good legs, but not the Titanic kind of legs that Avatar is shaping up to be. IMDB rating 8.8 too, putting it in top 25 of all time on IMDB.
