Getting lost there is one of the things I do best.

man.. liondollars mike is my guide usually.. i literally hold on to his shirt tail and he has to lead me to the hotel.. now when i go solo like i am now i stay at the Swissotel because a) its a great value and contemporary design with a nifty auto espresso maker i make full use of and b) its directly on the Dam Square so even I cannot get lost...

The first trip was hilarious.. I stayed at like the Crowne Plaza which was out of the RLD and I tried to remember the way back by the McDonald's landmark only to find out a few miles into my meandering that there's McD's ALL OVER THE PLACE... I ended up walking for hours in circles and eventually found it... and before anyone asks, no, the thought never occured to me to ask someone for directions lol

My first time there I was trying to use the landmark deal.

"Okay, at the corner with the sex shoppe and coffee shop turn right" Yeah, every corner and they all look alike. It did not help that I would get somewhere with someone that knew all the alleyways, etc.

Last time goodgirl came with and between the two of us we got it down pretty well. At least we never got lost.

i always get lost there lol. what a fucking maze amsterdam is. don't get me wrong, i love it, but confusing as hell.

i agree man... i preach to ppl although i truly do only the tourist deviant things like you mentioned... i maintain that if i had to live in an expensive, cold part of europe .nl would be the place... why? yeah the relaxed attitude on sex and drugs is a slight draw i'll admit (although its getting feverishly more conservative lately and it looks to continue from what i understand) as gay as this sounds.. i like the culture.. the architecture.. the people... even the silly mary poppins bikes they ride around shamelessly and RUTHLESSLY.. you'll get your ass ran over with no hesitation if you're not adhering to the roads and signals..

plus all the dutch penises i've seen are enormous.. just sayin!
