The end is near.

Wonderful now we can really see more deaths most likely on the NA/Euro side of the fence

Hotrocket 12-26-2009 01:19 PM

U.S. Military provides the maximum opportunity for the enemy to give his life for his country!

How come they keep talking about all of these future hand-to-hand combat weapons but nobody ever gets them?

As far as I know, the guys on the front lines have been using the same effective -- yet simple -- weapons for many years.

I cannot help but to think that the military uses the media to their advantage just like everyone else.

They don't even have enough body armor for our guys...how the hell are we getting them these weapons if we cannot put some bulletproof pads into a vest?

fatfoo 12-26-2009 01:47 PM

This video on CNN, great reporting, sure has some great close-ups of real military action and some cool future weapons. These guns are amazing - seems like they are lightweight.

I don't deal in guns, but it's cool to look at these videos.

...song popped in my head as I was watching.

bronco67 12-26-2009 02:19 PM

When asked about the prospect of the weapon falling into enemy hands, the army guy dodged the question like he was a born politician.

This thing needs some kind of identity grip for the soldier its assigned to.

baddog 12-26-2009 02:28 PM

Am surprised this is just now getting out.

DaddyHalbucks 12-26-2009 02:34 PM

I think the Swedes have had something similar for a few years, but it was not handheld.

I dont think he meant the actual gun but rather someone figuring out the technology

I doubt that will happen.

My concern is an enemy combatant finding one on the battlefield. I don't see how that army guy could have zero worry about that eventuality. It will happen eventually.

Dirty Dane 12-26-2009 03:16 PM

That is a cruel weapon. Just like cluster bombs.

themadwriter 12-26-2009 03:56 PM

get ready for the annihilation of the earth

Davidstinator 12-26-2009 05:07 PM

_Richard_ 12-26-2009 06:16 PM

more trials for what seems like a fully functioning weapon?

i wonder if they'll do a news report for the non-lethal weapon

So, did EA/DICE copy the Army, or did the Army copy EA/DICE with the PK Rocket Air-burst in BF:2142?

A little while ago there was a program on Discovery Channel with some dude that tested all kinds of weapons. Not sure if it was the XM25 but it was the exact same concept. So I'd say it's pretty old news.

Pixelbucks Eric 12-26-2009 07:21 PM

I did a search for it and found a site that's also posted about this yesterday.
Some guy remarks it was the program "Weapons of the future" and the XM25 was in a 2008 episode.

Bjorn 12-27-2009 03:32 AM

this isnt so new and high tech ad they want it to be, we had the same when i was in the army 10 years ago, in bigger one shot versions though. So not suprised, but neat of course to get it in so light version and multishot

John-ACWM 12-27-2009 05:58 AM

Exactly... this weapon is not new. I have known about it for a number of years. I even saw it in action a year ago on the Discovery channel on a program called Future Weapons. It amazes me how retarded the media is these days.

They would still need to get ammo.
