Why would a cable modem keep on rebooting by itself?
 

I am on hold atm with tech support so anybody have any ideas?

besides the obvious that its fucked and need a replacement?

It's running on windows

Something corrupt in the firmware perhaps. Tried resetting it to factory default?

I know that ISP can reboot you modem

maybe the power outlet is going bad and makes the power intermitent causing it to constantly restart.

its on a surge protector strip with other stuff , the other stuff diesnt lose any juice ...

is roadrunner your ISP...I am having issues with them for 3 days
(spent 3 hours on hold today total)

maybe it is overheating

I had the same issue. Never did figure out what caused it but when I replaced the modem, it stopped.

It was rebooting 200+ times a day.

maybe try rebooting it and see if that helps??

It's the FBI setting up electronic surveillance. It's always on and off until they get the access worked out. It'll return to normal once they're setup.
