It's got 99% overall fresh rating at http://www.rottentomatoes.com - 76 fresh with just 1 dumbass reviewer not liking it and giving it a rotten rating :feels-hot

You mean you wouldn't dress up as a hobbit?

brian-GFY 12-18-2002 12:24 PM

I saw it last night, I liked it better than the first one. They didnt follow the book quiet as much as the first one, but great flick non the less.

A hobbit...? yikes. If I was to be anything at all, it would have to be an elf. Heeee. *^____^*

The comedy in it was a lot better than in the first one also. Didn't you think so?

Bobby Vicious 12-18-2002 02:28 PM

Just got back a few minutes ago from the theatre. Not bad, I think the first one was better as with all sequels/ trilogies etc. I think they're a little off mark to be comparing it to the success of the Star Wars and Godfather films.:2 cents:

jreaka 12-18-2002 02:29 PM

should be a good flick, the first one was awsome!!!!

Greg N 12-18-2002 03:43 PM

I just bought my tickets on Fandango.com for Two Towers! I can't wait!!!! Its gonna be shweeeeeeeeeet! Right after work I am there! Less than 3 hours to go!

Paul -C- 12-19-2002 06:26 AM

I saw it last night and thought it was great, much better than the first one.

BluMedia 12-19-2002 02:31 PM

It saw it last night and it was awesome. I can't wait an entire year for the last one though. I heard the last one will blow the other two away.

Mark

Greg N 12-19-2002 03:47 PM

TWO HUGE THUMBS UP ON THIS FLICK!!!
:thumbsup :thumbsup

It blows the first one away. It was so damn good I am gonna go see it again and again and again and again!

I don't think this is the same as most sequels and trilogies as the movies are just following the original books.. on top of that, they were all filmed at the same time. Most sequels are obviously written, scripted and filmed after the original one.. so they end up sucking. These were filmed at the same time and were following the book..

But I do think it'll stack up to the other trilogies like that once it's all said and done..

Sly_RJ 12-19-2002 04:02 PM

I have never anticipated seeing a movie this much before. I'll have to wait until Sunday night, if I can!

Bobby Vicious 12-19-2002 04:09 PM

So ........... there it is. hmmmmm.

playa 12-19-2002 04:35 PM

The movie was outstanding and i wasn't disappointed at the end cuz i expected to end like it did

damn another 364 days i have to wait :(

i am very surprised there haven't been any bootlegged versions of the last part yet

nazgul 12-19-2002 04:46 PM

Saw it last night.... I have two thoughts

1. It is a great movie in and of itself

2. That being said it strays WAY too much from the book for my liking..... i would say 50% of the shit in the movie just didn't happen in the book, but it was still really cool

flashfreak 12-19-2002 04:48 PM

can't wait to see it tomorrow...

I heard that this "episode" wasn't edited and fully finished until this past October/November.

Should we assume the same for the third?

I wouldn't want to see a bootleg copy. Would spoil the awe from the big screen.

Kat - Fast 12-19-2002 05:53 PM

I'm waiting for the 3rd one to come out on dvd then I'm gonna lock the doors, close the curtains and watch them all in one go

Yup. They changed the story arc with Rohan, Helm's Deep, Treebeard & The Ents, Faramir, Mordor's Gate and the Nazguls. Every line Gimli had was the subject of a joke, and the Arwen dream stuff was barf bag material. Gollum kicked ass though.

lawpal 12-20-2002 10:32 PM

excellant

True. All True.

Excellent, none the less..

Saw it Friday Morning at 11 a.m. Great seats. No kids. No crowds. Perfect.

BluMedia 12-21-2002 02:34 AM

LOTR was just awesome but I guess not everyone thinks so. Here is how fucked up people are in this world.

Hmm that site is a parody I think, here's some interesting feedback these guys get http://www.landoverbaptist.org/mail/1002.html this is from the true christians now supposedly.

BluMedia 12-21-2002 03:41 AM

Yeah I guess it is a humour site but I am sure there is plenty of people that think that way.
