Search Engine Script?
 

Anyone have suggestions for a SE Script? I need one that will run on one domain - but will let all the domains on that box pull and serve results.

ok. this is quite possibly the most under rated and completely insane thread of the month for 2009.

but i'm curious... why ask for "a search engine script" when you can just ask for one billion dollars in unmarked bills?

is it because you have no idea what a search engine is and what it does and how much data you'd have to collect, organize and update daily from over 1,000,000,000,000 web pages and 100,000,000 domains? or you think one billion dollars is just not enough to ask for ?

And you've NEVER heard of putting a SE on a site that just crawls your own sites?
Why don't you just go back to hounding that crazy camgirls guy and stay out of real biz threads?

it only occurred to me later that you were thinking about "site search" vs "Search engine" - which isn't not exactly the same thing.

Well, it's commonly referred to as a "SE script" that you put on your site - that's why I used the terminology.
It might make sense to read a thread before jumping; if someone like woj is responding seriously, it would at least make me think twice before thinking "this guy is nuts."

Are you looking for a script to search your existing data base or are you looking for a spider too ? i use http://www.dtsearch.com/ on my projects

Wow, that's nice, but a lot more than I need.
Actually, just looking for a simple web search: with an engine that would spider all of my sites and return results just from those sites. The problem is that I'd like to be able to just run the engine on one site, but return results via search boxes on every site There are plenty of simple search engine scripts out there, but as far as I can they only return results on the site where the script is installed.
