All of them?

Admittedly I'm not enough of a fan to know whats what as far as albums, but I do enjoy his music. Got a few albums on my iPod off a buddy.

he did a cover of Danzig's Thirteen that is pure awesome...

Look around and find whatever album has "Highwayman" on it, that song fucking rocks. I think that might actually be a Highwaymen album as opposed to an actual Cash album though...

Seriously love that song...

fucked up those links

I liked the first Highwayman album but not a fan of the second. :2 cents:

I like the sound of his vocals more when he is older.

That Thirteen song was great.

You have to get his last album (at least I think it was his last) called A Man Comes Around. It is all cover songs he covers everyone from Simon and Garfunkle to Nine Inch Nails. His version of hurt is one of the most amazing pieces of music I have ever heard. The record is raw, honest and a classic.

3 disc essential set pretty much covers it.

"I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die."

Dude, that's as punk rock as it gets.

t go wrong with any of it, although I do like some songs better than others

When I was a kid I went to a state fare and saw him perform. The only song I really recall was "One piece at a time." I had never heard it before but it really stuck in my head that day.

My mother was a big fan of the Man in Black, so I heard his music from as far back as I can remember:

When Social Distortion covered Johnny Cash, I developed a new found respect for him (embedding is disabled, so I hope you will click on this link to YouTube):

"Walk the Line" and "Ring of Fire"

The movie about his life, Walk The Line, was as good as any biopic that I have seen, but it is this music video of Johnny Cash doing a cover of Nine Inch Nails "Hurt", which became my favorite. He truly made the song his own:

Exactly, normally not my overall genre of music, but you can't listen to Cash and say he is anything other than a pure badass. The man was pure punk rock, and there's no other way to put. Gotta show respect where respect is due!

edit, wrong thread entirely

You need to read his autobiography, "Man In Black", it is awesome.

If you decide to read it, you have to get an early edition, The first version is the rawest version.

There are a few on Ebay. Gotta get the black cover, looks like this-

My parents played all his records constantly, which was good because when it wasn't Johnny Cash it was classical music, which at the time I hated. I LOVE it now. I use to love 'A Boy Named Sue' and the rest of his hits. 'Hurt' became my favorite Cash song when it came out. Rick Ruben is a genius producer.

Ironically, today if Johnny auditioned for American Idol (and was under 30), Simon would say he has no future in music because he doesn't sing like Usher or Justin Timberlake. IMHO, Johnny's voice is better than those over-tuned teeny-boppers who are here today and gone tomorrow.

Cool. I will keep an eye out for it on eBay. Thanks for the recommendation.
