$300 video?
https://youtube.com/watch?v=-dadP...layer_embedded
Supposedly done for $300, and resulted in the guy getting a $30 million Hollywood contract. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/8417789.stm Pretty nice video, but don't see how it is possible to do for $300 unless he is using pirated software. |
yeah, no way anyone did that for 300 bucks
|
This is the latest trick in mainstream by spending some money on a film and then saying it cost way less with the hope of attracting Hollywood execs. "If he could do that for $300, imagine what he could do for $30M".
Plus I also find the uploaded Thursday night and had mailbox filled with offers by Monday morning bullshit as well. No way any exec in his right mind would offer $30M before ever meeting the guy and verifying the exaggerated low costs. |

You think a production company charges an extra $10,000 for a NEW software license for every single production they make. Of course not. What sense does that make? Just like I don't tact on $1,700 to each invoice for software licensing. That's retarded. Come on baddog, even you should be a little more wiser than that. |

If you read my post again, I was agreeing with your position and explaining the latest bullshit craze. |

The video was uploaded November 3. What makes you think anyone is implying this was done over night? You don't think a month and a half is time enough to meet someone? |

What production costs would there be.. Other than wasting a ton of his time to do it (although, in the end we see it wasn't a waste) :2 cents: |

that can easily be done for 300 bucks, assuming he is not factoring the cost of hardware.
but why would he if he already had all of that. It would take a LOT of planning, getting a few university’s to put up posters for casts etc etc....but yeah 300 does not sound weird to me at all. This clip is 99% computer skills |
From the fucking article
"I uploaded (Panic Attack!) on a Thursday and on Monday my inbox was totally full of e-mails from Hollywood studios," he told the BBC's Latin American service BBC Mundo. |

Highly competitive business an who ever gets there first will most likely land a deal |

Doesn't mean he was getting offers on Monday, just praises that probably lead to the offer later on. Costs in Uruguay are much lower than in the states so it's technically possible, especially if you don't pay actors (which he probably didn't, its a youtube video). Then all the effects he did in post. He obviously didn't count in camera/lenses/software costs. Video is very impressive though. But this is an exaggeration: "If some director from some country can achieve this just uploading a video to YouTube, it obviously means that anyone could do it" |

when people do production they never add in cost of equipment unless they rent it.

its a cool video nonetheless. a total bomb in the boxoffice I predict

If leads lead to offers And yes people have been known to be offered huge amounts on the spot from hollywood in the past, im not saying by email. Im just wondering why you almost sound like you hate the guy and are hellbent on proving it wrong lol You seem pissed about it and arrogant, why? :) |

No proof, no $30mil deal.

interesting.
|
It's called marketing:2 cents: It makes people talk about the movie.
|
It was a stupid film too. I could fart that.
|
I am not in that business, i do not know the ins and outs, so i can only make a wild guess. I'd say it is possible, if you don't calculate the software costs, your own work, time, etc... but in the end, it is surely just another successful from what it seems marketing story/action. It has made the news... :)

Another fantastically witty retort from GFY's latest knowall. How many times to people have to ridicule you for not paying your hosting STILL and not removing the link to a site that makes you look like a deadbeat twat from your sig STILL? |
