Are you ready for Google-branded netbooks?

Our understanding is that Google intends to have the devices built, branded with Google, and then sell them directly to consumers. The only firm tech spec we’ve heard is that they’ll be mobile enabled, and likely tied to one or more carriers with a subsidy.
Nice take on the iPhone play.

Google domination continus unabated...

I think that's probably why MS has started trying to step it up in the SE war. They realize that Google's dominance in it can be leveraged into dominance or at least near-dominance eventually in just about anything, including things they currently have monopolies in that they don't want to give up.

I'm not ready. It's too soon.

Don't forget the google phone which comes out next month. Unlocked, will work on t-mobile and/or at&t in the US plus many carriers worldwide. The killer is the rumored price of $199 unlocked. At that price it will take over. http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/11/17/thegoogle-phone/

That's a killer price point for an unlocked phone. I wouldn't be surprised if Android knocks off iPhone as the smartphone standard...

Apparently it will only work on t-mobile, something to do with the 3g signal being set to them only.
