PS2 Modchips
where is the best place to buy one of these that dont rip you off? and what is the best one to buy? is there one you dont have to solder or swap cds with?
|
easybuy2000.com has always shipped shit in a timely manner. if you want to go solderless you have to swap. the new no solder chips at EB2000 come with a disc to swap, so you don't have to buy a gameshark.
|
how hard is it to solder a chip? Are there many connections to solder and how easy is it to fuck up the system?
|
one slip of the hand and your systems fucked and any warranty is void. I'll just play the games I've bought: :)
|
Whats a good solderless. I opened mine up and it scared the fuck out of me. Had to identify what kinda chip it was when I thought about getting one before. I had pieces leftover after I put it pack together. Works though. Tray is a little sticky going in and out, but its all good. No fucking way I am gonna solder in there. Did some soldering in high school, but nothing since.
So whats a good solderless one. Nothing thats gonna require a gameshark. |
where it says v4 or v4/5/6 what does that mean? if my ps2 says scph 3001 does that mean i have v3?

Here's a good place to learn about modded consoles:

got all my mod chips here..
http://www.modchip.com/ i bought the usb 1 wire modchip.. opened up the system and it did not have the right layout directions that came with it.. but they had it online... i would never try to do one for someone else.. when i opened mine the screws were glued in or something. took me hours to do. but got it back together and it works fine.. but the bad thing now is 99% of all games that are coming out now are on dvd and i have not heard of a way to burn them yet... for reg games you will also need either disc juggler or cdrwin to make your back ups |
