Help re-installing CS3 - It will not let me register, only a failed re-register

I had to re-install due to some strange issue I had with the software while using XP on a mac. It wanted me to re-register CS3, but it won't let me. So I uninstalled, reinstalled, and it's still asking me to re-register and won't allow me to actually register.

Total clusterfuck.

Any ideas how to bypass this or totally delete the files so I can do a fresh install?

Do you already have 2 copies installed? PS (CS2 anyway) refuses to activate if you already have two activations and haven't DEactivated.

The problem is that if you have a crash and have to reinstall, even on exactly the same computer, it doesn't forget about the old install, so you're out of luck if you're already at the limit of 2 activated licenses.

You'll need to call them... good luck, when I tried that I was on hold for hours. No joke. I actually left the phone connected when I went to bed just to see what I'd wake up to. :D

^ BTW by call them I mean choose the phone option when it asks you to activate. I don't know what the procedure is since I never actually got through. I took matters into my own hands.

I have found Adobe phone support to be very helpful in re-installs. They can give you a new serial number if needed.

You may have hit it on the head. I am able to run XP through my MAC. CS3 is installed on XP and I just set up a program to let me work my XP and MAC side by side at the same time. That was when things went crazy. My guess is, it will not allow it because it's reading it as 2 installs on the same machine.

I'll give them a call. Thanks for the tip. :thumbsup
