Domains dropping like flies....
Been checking out some domain drop lists from this year. A sick amount of domains are dropping daily. I found over 200 decent ones, then broke them down to ones I really liked. I registered 20 new domains last month, and another 15 tonight. If you have a fav niche you promote you will find some great domains. I am talking about decent 2 word domains .com
I guess the recession is making many reduce their domain holdings, and perhaps people who are not making money are just leaving the internet biz. |

Just like real estate, if you have $ come to Vegas and get a house that was $450K 3 yrs ago for $180K now.
|
true, ive scored some really nice ones from people on forums "tried of this biz" and getting out
tough times are the best times to expand |
i am no more buying any domains, just those that i need at the moment, most of the "right now great" ones expires again ...

The computer tech guy who comes to my job once a month, told me I should drop all my domains...and just offer some of these guys like 10k for a hot domain...and just focus on one great website...instead of 500 so so ones. |
I only wish I had more liquid cash, but I know exactly what you are talking about. Some crazy names popping up...

i got cpl...its aiite
|
what site do u use looking for drop lists or whatever?
|
alot of people are finally realizing that having keyword phrase domains is not as advantageous as it used to be. i myself have dropped hundreds of exact match term domains because they are less of a factor in search scoring than they once were. i've been able to rank terms on unrelated domains, so its less necessary to own the exact match domain, so that's one reason you see more drops. i would suppose one of the other reasons is people just aren't hoarding domains as a result of trimming fat and dumping unnecessary assets in an effort to streamline their businesses in a trying economy.

How do you tell the domain age of a dropped domain? I used a couple tools and they can't determine the age.

NameJet, Pool, Snapnames, Afternic are all great places to pick up dropping domains, prices vary from $59-$69 or more at each site, that is if other users don't put in bids on the domains, at that time, the domain goes into a 3 day auction and the highest bidder wins the domain name. Have fun, it is quite addicting ;) |

http://PDDW.com FTW
|
the problem is Google, I'd buy a bunch more if google wasn't such a bitch the last while, it is hard to predict how they will treat a domain when it goes through changes
|
Good adult dot com´s will continue to rise in value - the crappy ones will fall to the bottom :2 cents:
