how do you handle your passwords?

those of you promoting hundreds of programs.. do you ever change login passwords? do you use the same password on all programs? how often do you change passwords and what method do you use to do so?

woj 12-08-2009 10:04 AM

pass = 123456 for all the programs
FTW :thumbsup

vegasbadboy 12-08-2009 10:04 AM

i use randomly generated passwords for everything and manage them with 1Password on my mac and RoboForm on my pc. Both are well worth the small fee.

Do you back up the password data?

Jensen 12-08-2009 12:00 PM

using a combination of a site name, number and object.. such as gfy123dog ...

ArsewithClass 12-08-2009 12:06 PM

I use lots of passwords as there are many arseholes out there that would use the passwords to change details like address or payee name just to be a wanker!

d-null 12-08-2009 12:20 PM

different password for everything

I seem to have a bionic memory for random combinations and add in an algorithmic variance to a shorter group of randomness so I don't actually have to remember 100 different random groups, just 5 to 10 with an algorithmic variance to keep every password completely unique

Here is a nifty little tool for this.

any program that is handling your passwords is much more dangerous than having one pass to multiple sites :2 cents:

Killswitch - BANNED FOR LIFE 12-08-2009 02:50 PM

I use my username as my password.

BVF 12-08-2009 05:05 PM

roboform is da king

Socks 12-08-2009 08:35 PM

notepad, different random long generated pass for each program.

Robbie 12-08-2009 08:45 PM

I randomly autogenerate a password for each program (260 of them, another 120 in one big CC Bill account so it doesn't count)

I keep them all written down in several places.

And to access all of the stats/webmaster areas in a browser quickly I just click on the program in Stats Remote

SleazyDream 12-08-2009 08:48 PM

i'm a simple guy, I just type the word 'password' where it asks for a password so it's easy to remember. Esp for banking and server info, i mean i have to go into those every day and if they had complicated passwords I'd surly forget them
