The big problem for many print magazines looking at in iPod or Internet solution, is advertising. Neither forms will have the same return or effect print advertising did. So won't command the prices.

What would really blow everyones mind would be if they used the cam in the phone to create augmented reality with their products. Ex. you choose some furniture from Ikea´s app, point your iphone´s cam to where you want it in your room, and see a live overlay image of how it will look in your own room.

Unlock the power of the cam :thumbsup

Good idea. Also, enable users to share it. So shared reality mash content that supports offline commerce. Love it!

The online revenue is way less then the offline and the cost savings from printing paper doesn't replace the lost revenue.

True, but do you see this being permanent?

Take the word of one of the largest adult magazine publishers.

Without a huge change in the mentality of the Internet user it will be permanent. SE advertising is a different form of advertising as the buyer has already decided he wants something. Magazine advertising is more in line with convincing him he needs a product.

Take away the huge revenue of print advertising and the publishers will have to trim their sales to such an amount most of the content will simply disappear or quality will diminish a lot.
