AOL is still around? That's what's lame.

The thing that most people don't realize is that AOL is staying afloat, and being profitable, by owning sites such as tmz.com, switched.com and engadget.com

A lot of people think of AOL as the program that doesn't allow you to surf the real internet. Nowadays the run a huge network of niche sites. PopEater, PoliticsDaily, WalletPop, etc... I think they have something like 50 of them.

Splitting from TW is going to be huge for AOL. I'll make a very early prediction that they'll regain powerhouse status within a few years.... probably through acquisitions.
