Slow comp- Low processor usage- ANY IDEAS?

Any idea why my processor usage is low on my comp... 10-20% but yet my computer is creeping like a Crip BEFORE a drive-by?

Any ideas?

Running Windows 7- 64bit

No viruses

Give all the specs. How much RAM?

leg4 11-18-2009 03:56 PM

Dual Xeon, 3.2gig

250 gig system drive- 10,000rpm

2gig RAM

U think the Ram is the bottle neck?

Try a defrag or cleaning your registry

Whats the best way to automatically and safely clean the registry?

Windows 7

I have similar specs to you, but twice as much RAM. I'd bump up to 4 if I were you.

I really dont know in windows7 I have never used it have you got any software like registry clean expert ?

It might not even be that it could be some other sofware thats conflicting with something else

2GB ram isn't much. I'm on 4 and I run slow sometimes with a ton of things open. I'll upgrade to 8 whenever I decide to go to win7.

No, it takes 4 gigs for me to run XP the way I want it. I'd imagine I'd want more if I moved to Windows 7.

I had no problem running 2gigs on several windows XP machines for many years.
Everything was fast.
