Howard Stern: Terrestrial or Sirus?
Howard Stern: Terrestrial or Sirus? - which do you like?
|
Opie and Anthony. I've got XM.
|
I don't know of anyone that could talk for 5 hours a day straight and keep me that captivated. Different strokes for different folks but that's how I feel.
|
I liked Stern on Sirius when he first shifted. Now he just doesn't seem like he gives a shit and it shows. The show can be entertaining but it's not necessarily entertaining because of him.
|
I think he has been 100% better since going to Sirius. Her is uncensored and they can actually go for a while without having to take a commercial break. It is cool getting to hear him without having to have limits on what they say and do.

is Howard considering going back to terrestrial radio?
he brought in a ton of subscribers for Sirius but Howard vastly overestimated how many of his longtime fans would jump to satellite - i'm sure he misses the days when he talked to 14 million people rather than the 1 or 2 million he has now. the other thing that terrestrial radio had that worked for Howard is that the FCC rules worked in his favor - he was the bad boy trying to get past the uptight radio station management and saying and doing things nobody else on the airwaves would. being on satellite where u can be profane and say almost whatever you want, it becomes ho hum. the shock jock already was beginning to mean less and less before Howard went to satellite - every other radio show including his fanboys Opie and Anthony were doing the same thing he did. he was no longer unique |
I listened to Howard Stern many years ago. He's a genius guy. Doesn't matter to me if it's Sirius or other radio.
|
I think he brought 6 million to Sirius, and now with the merger he's well into the double digits, although obviously not because of him solely. As he says, who else in show business could pull off those numbers?
I'm not a fan of many celebrities or people in general, but he's probably the only person of fame that I honestly say I appreciate in regards to the service he provides. One of the best pure entertainers ever. Unmatched intelligence, whit and swaaaagggaaa. He's much more than a shock jock, dick jokes kind of entertainer, at least I think so. And I think that's why you see so many of his great ideas ripped off. Like I said, different strokes for different folks. Any stern thread on gfy always seems to end up in a big argument... |

I find Jason Ellis's show more entertaining :2 cents:
Kidd Chris is another one that should have a satellite show |
I haven't heard of him since he switched. Didn't he get like 500 million for making that switch.
I don't know if he still talks about the same old boring things. It must get old after a while. |

i was as hardcore a Stern fan as anybody could be, i'm sure Howard's still great, i idolized the guy, but Howard and his crew were at their best when they were younger before the national fame and fortune that Private Parts the book and movie brought.

Less commercials on sirius, uncensored....repeating the show all day...it's awesome.
