question for the pit bull owners.

I was watching "The Wire" and these guys had pit bulls that they were going to make fight each other. One guy had a gallon of whitish liquid, it looked like watered down milk, and he poured it all over the dog before the fight. The other guy had a rag and he rubbed something (it didn't show what) all over the dog. The first guy wasn't secretive about it but the second guy hid it.

Do you know what they put on the dogs?

thx in advance!

candyflip 11-17-2009 11:43 AM

The Wire was the best show ever to grace our TV screens.

Why do you want to know? Are you going to dog fight.???

dyna mo 11-17-2009 01:28 PM

why do you want to know why i want to know?

Killswitch - BANNED FOR LIFE 11-17-2009 01:37 PM

No clue man, I never really liked dog fighting or would never subject my own Pit, or anyone I know's Pit to such a thing.

But if you find out, I'd be very interested in knowing. :thumbsup

TurboAngel 11-17-2009 03:19 PM

I have no clue as I wouldn't EVER fight dogs, why would you want to know? You going to get into dog fighting? I think dog fighting is the most barbaric thing a person can do. It pisses me the fuck off and I have called the cops and the SPCA on a few pitt owners and I will continue to do that. The saddest thing I have read her on GFY in a long time.

you do know the wire is one of the greatest shows to ever grace our televisions, right?

did you see the episode about fighting pit bulls? the owners put this stuff all over their dogs, do you know what it was?

alias 11-17-2009 03:23 PM

I saw that episode too, probably ketamine or heroin. Just guessing though, could be a number of things but I'd suspect sedatives.

The greatest show? LMFAO Ya it such a great a show that's all about drug dealing and now dog fighting episode. NO I HAVE NO FUCKING CLUE WHAT THEY PUT ON THE DOGS! I think dog fighting is disgusting, do you want to know so you can start dog fighting? I sure as fuck wouldn't have watched that episode. Yes I have watched the show a few times and I sure as hell can't say it's the best show out there.

No I don't know the people who fight dogs, I called the ASPA and the cops on a few people that I have seen 4-7 pitts that looked starving and all beat up, chained in a yard.

DON'T EVER IMPLY AGAIN THAT I KNOW ANYONE WHO FIGHTS DOGS!

The statement does make it sound like you knew some people, well enough you could see the conditions of Pitts, to be able to call the cops. I can't see my neighbors dogs unless I'm in the backyard with them.... and I can't do that unless I'm visiting them.

Just saying... you can keep your rant going about dogs getting fake hurt in a tv shows now.

Well come down here (NC) where most people have the dogs chained to trees and have no fence or a chain link fence, yes you can see the dogs.

It's amazing how few people in this country realize what really goes on with a lot of dogs...abuse, neglect and the list goes on. Keep your head in the sand, and instead just ask questions about dog fighting...how sad. :throwup

alias 11-17-2009 04:38 PM

This question is based on a tv episode of the wire. I also wondered the same thing when watching it, guess you had to be there.

I think dog fighting is for total pussies, why don't the owners just fight?

It's more amazing that people put the care/love of a dog over a human they don't know, which can and often do go through far more extremes. Pull your head out of the sand to see reality.

The dog should feel lucky it isn't on the dinner menu.

what a completely retarded view on life you have.

beemk 11-17-2009 04:51 PM

i was curious too, probably just some kind of chemical the dog wouldnt want to taste. i tried to look it up and didnt find anything.

"In a vacant West Baltimore warehouse, a collection of local dealers including Prop Joe, Cheese and others gather for an evening of dogfights. Confident that his pit bull will win the match with a dog owned by the dealer Dazz, Cheese's cocky demeanor turns to shock as his dog goes down quickly. Cheese then shoots his dog rather than give him medical help, and grows even angrier when another dealer, Triage, points out a red rag on the floor that Dazz rubbed down his dog with before the match. Implying that some chemical may have been on the rag, Triage suggests that Cheese was gamed. A few days later, in response, Triage walks up to Dazz's soldier Jelly and with only one word, "Woof," blows his brains out."

although i do agree with you on the fact that the wire is a great show. my friends dad actually was the actor who played 'The Greek'. i do understand what he is saying. I have a pitbull myself and would never subject it to any kind of fighting. If you watch animal planet at all. You will see there are much more cases of neglect then dog fighting. People out there who leave there dogs outside, no food, no water, dirt, cold weather. This is just as bad if not worse and it happens to more dogs then fighting. fighting dogs are typically pitbulls, there are many other breads of dogs which get neglected.

I used to see a lot of sense in some of the things you wrote here before TheDoc. How you can compare people treating animals well in general, and then compare that to them not treating some unknown human not as well? I treat humans just as well as animals, unless they (humans) do something negative to me. Humans can fend for themselves much easier than the animals we (humans) have domesticated, so humans either care for them properly, or treat them like shit with things like tying them to a tree 24/7 to "protect" their little asses, or dog fighting so they can be big macho men...that is reality.

And your reality is dogs should feel lucky they aren't on the dinner menu...nice.

And what I'm saying now... makes a lot more sense than you coming in a thread about a FAKE TV show, acting like it's reality, or that talking like it some how hurts dogs.

Get off your high horse...

Yes, dogs should feel lucky, because if it was Asia, they would be food.

I think its actually some kind of detergant to show the other dog owner that there is no tranquilisers/drugs ect on the coats of the dogs

I'm surprised you missed the main point of why I came into this thread doc? Someone talking about dog fighting like they talk about some sport like football, continues to legitimize dog fighting. Change comes slowly and talk like that makes progress go backward. Anyone that thinks they have the "right" to fight dogs will argue their ignorance to anyone that will listen, to try to justify it's ok in their own head.

No high horse here doc, just common sense reality.

People here are talking about a scene in a TV show... nobody here glorified or legitimized dog fighting, in anyway.

He asked a question... no different than if he asked what type of gun was used in a gun fight. He isn't legitimizing murder, he is asking a question.

many, many, MANY people, organizations and experts strongly feel the porn people like yourself are destroying the moral fabric of society, abusing and exploiting women, etc. yet you take the same type argument and use it against me because i ask a innocous question about a television show on a message board called gofuckyourself.

you are a shitstain hypocrite of the worst type.

http://animal.discovery.com/tv/pitbu...t-the-show.jpgTheres a really good show on Animal Planet called PitBulls and Parolees, it has been pretty good so far. This lady,Tia Torres, rescues pit bulls from all over CA and uses parolees for labor and trainers and has some fine ass daughters with tig ol bitties.

Your words continue to speak volumes. as I mentioned earlier, people like you will say anything to try and justify something. You compare what we as humans have a right to do, (sex) to you asking a "innocent" question about what do pit owners put on their dog before they fight them? That is far from the "same" argument.

You didn't mention one word in your post that is a negative about dog fighting, more like you're asking nothing more than what kind of wax were they using on their cars on this TV show? You legitimize something when asking a question that way. And you further justify it because this board has a name of gofuckyourself...good excuse. And once again, you should learn the facts before you let the diarrhea start to flow from your mouth...the last thing I have ever been called by anyone with a clue is a hypocrite. lol

Continue to post anything more that you would like to me, but I have other things to do today, other than talk to a cement wall. :angrysoap

Ok, point taken doc. Some of the other posts seemed to think he was legitimizing dog fighting though also. I haven't seen him mention in any of his next posts that the area that his question/thread (dog fighting) was/is a negative in any way. I suppose if he had said something to the effect that dog fighting is wrong, or that anyone involved in it should have something similar happen to them, I may have thought it was just a "innocent" question, but I have not seen anything remotely close to that. His words seem to still read to me that dog fighting is ok by him.

you also assume too much whilst on your high horse.

typical.

perhaps you should ask prior to making sweeping assumptions about others. but then you wouldn't be able to point your finger at others then.

either way, you've shown your true colors.

Chances are people that watch the TV show have no clue about Pitt Bulls from a scene in a show, like him... Who else should he have asked other than Pitt Bull owners that might have a clue? Think of the backlash if he said, hey Pitt Bull Fighters.

Whitish fluid... Maybe it's a fluid to make them more slippery and give them less friction before the fight.

Hmm...it appears that there were no assumptions on my part. I think you're reading only what you want to read once again, in order to be "right." I don't have an issue with one word I posted here about what you wrote. After several chances to do so, you still have not said one word about dog fighting being wrong...you've shown your true colors it seems.

So, why would you want/need to know why someone pours something on their Pit Bull, just before sending them in to fight...probably just doing a research paper for school I guess. My bad for not figuring out something so obvious. I'm sure you couldn't possibly think that dog fighting is ok to do...right?
