Nasty Dollars - who can explain THIS SHIT?
 

I stopped sending traffic to Nasty Dollars recently.

Back in February they were converting 1:200 easily. I know they've been promoted heavily by everyone, but conversions going 15 fold worse is ridiculous. 1:3000? Fuck that.

So I stopped sending traffic about 6 weeks ago. I was using their content, so I kept the links up. In the past 6 weeks, I've submitted maybe 2 movie galleries with their content. That's all. Nothing since then... I've been promoting other sponsors and my own AVS sites.

Eventually signups dropped to 0 per day in my Nasty Dollars account. Occasionally I'd get the 1 signup, but that's expected.

Now, take a look at this.

Stats for the past 5 days (I added "clicks" and "signups" words so that stats are clearer):

2002-12-11 456clicks 0signups $0
2002-12-12 535clicks 0signups $0

Suddenly, yesterday and today:

There are instances where this would occur, we all know that. Maybe there was a listing on a big tgp many weeks after the gallery was submitted. However, this also means that more clicks will show in the stats. Anyone knows that a Hun/Worldsex/AL4A will mean an extra 2000-3000 clicks showing in the stats. But I didn't have that. And nothing special showing in my Webalizer stats. Just the usual traffic.

Signups can go up and down, but this is ridiculous. What do I think? They have some kind of script that senses when webmasters stop sending traffic, and automatically credits them with signups so that they keep the links up, and keep promoting their paysites.

Nasty Dollars have been good, they've been real fucking good. Big checks and on time, almost everything around me right now has been bought with Nasty Dollars / OxCash revenue. My car, computers, furniture, even the crumbs on my fuckin' dinner plate. Of course, I won't make any accusations of shaving and I hate to dance on the obvious, but I have a feeling that there is something more than "a little strange" going on here.

It would be interesting to have 30 or 40 webmasters together to test out their system. Something just doesn't add up.

Any input? Anyone experienced the same thing, stats-wise?

i notice the same thing with most per sign up sponsors. another reason to setup prepaid deals with companies...

If you ever want to try a new sponsor, give us a whirl. You get credited on both primary joins (ibill) and backup processor joins (Acpay). I would say you would see an excellent conversion with any of our sites, but it depends on your niche.

Exactly the same thing happened to me yesterday and today. I was sitting at 1 in 1,700 for the past couple of months. So, I pulled about 90% of my links. Yesterday and today, my overall ratio is:

Unfortunately, I would say there must be something wrong with their stats system...even with 0% shaving, I can't imagine the stats being as good as they are right now. To bad it can't always be this way..I've always thought they offered a superior product.

Maybe they turned the shave % down for you guys as a Christmas gift?

I already use Platinum on about 10% of my traffic. Overall, they stay pretty steady. 75% of my traffic is sent to Danni Ashe's portfolio of sites. Excellent quality and honest to both webmaster and surfer. They've got my vote (and most of my traffic).

yeppers, Danni runs a great program, the surfers love her, and so does some of the media:))

good to hear you send some to Pl. bucks, Dave and team are real great ppl, and they take pride in there webmasters from what I see.

Same shit here, tho not as many sign ups, LOL. I sent zero traffic an dget 20-50 clicks a day logged and am showling like 1:90 for three sales this period.

Funny I started doing real well with them so I put them on my front entrance page in prime spots and I dropped off to no conversions at all.

I went from 1:35 to 1:1,600!

BTW I just took themcoff my front page on Thursday night.

Adult platinum has been very stable for me ... they quickly turned into my number 1 sponsor =) can't wait till they have the points system in , i'll have a few new gadgets and toys :thumbsup

The recent exposure of dollars4 shows that shaving is very easy for any program and can be set at different ratios for each affiliate. This ensures that for every few webmasters that say ratios are crap, there are another handful that will say conversions are great. Plus, I would assume that shaving is adjusted at different time intervals for each affiliate so as to avoid an onslaught of affiliates posting,"my stats just went to hell".

pretty simple solution:

Drop the sponsor.. signup for a fresh program and do test signups yourself :)

I allow my affiliates todo test signups.. but if you dont tell me you did a test signup and i catch you. you dont get paid. period.

So all it takes is 3 minutes and a short email to tell me you did a test signup. Not very hard to make sure things are on the up and up.

I'm working on a new free site. It's fucking awesome.

I bought a pass to Nasty Dollars, Ox Cash, and Soul Cash.

I'm ripping all of their content. Every last bit of it. Putting it all in a nice database, allowing visitors to search for whatever they're interested in.

Then I'm going to market the fuck out of it. TGP, MGP, AVS, and search engines. My buddy has a shitload of top ten search engine listings, I'm going to trade some nice links with him.

Let me know who wants the links. I'll hook you up the minute I launch.

Exactly...these guys monitor your traffic. Always notice when you first sign up the convertions are killer....only to be dwindled down to nothing. I used to advertise ARS, I would sign up for an account and cream it with traffic. I would have conversions of 1:50.- 1:100 but then it would just drop to shit... one day i lost my code so i just signed up for a new account...to my suprise my ratio's went right back to what they were. So whenever my ratio's would drop it was "new account time". a told a few friends about my findings and they had the same results.

I suggest you just find a new sponsor. I guess with the economy etc some sponsors feel the need to shave and also some are just downright dirty. We have 40 sites and use a 3rd party for stats and weekly payments. You can also do a test signup anytime. We never shave and have 24 hour webmaster support by phone and e-mail. I'm not saying they shave, but you have to be fully prepared to replace one per sign up sponsor with another at very short notice. ARS got cold? Hmmm try TopBucks. That sucks, shit, I know, Maxcash has 5 billion sites! That got slow? WTF? Ah - my old buddy Fantasyman can hook me up......etc etc etc


it's like wheel of fortune - when you land on bankrupt, you just spin that fucking wheel again and see where it lands.

the only way shaving will stop is for sponsors to offer a realistic persignup payout. they do the math... they made the calculations... it just SOUNDS better to say 40/signup... but hell, i'd rather get an honest 20/signup than a shaved 40. as long as we keep takin shit, they'll keep throwin it. hmmmm.... time to come up with something to resolve this....

Y'all get too googly eyed on stats you know that? The ONLY thing that counts is the amount on the check when it comes.

If A paid me 100 bucks a join and only showed half the joins on my check, but B paid me 50 bucks and join and only did a third the joins of A, then fuck it, A can steal me blind so long as they pay me the most money for my traffic.

I don't care about conversions, I don't care about stats, I don't care about one fucking thing but the number of zeros on my check.

Last 2 periods my traffic was shit @ ND, now it has turned good again...

as far as Nasty I never tried them so there not so hot right now huh? I thought they were pretty stand up over there?. Oh well.
I just dumped a very good sponsor had a good run with them but
the started playing games,.. the run lasted a few months and they were late in paying sometimes. anyways enough said..

I think all sponsors will be watched more closely because of what was found out with dollars4all.com. I think 3rd party stats and payments is the safest way to go and to promote more than once sponsor.
