Have you ever jumped in a car?
I dont mean like hit a pot hole. I mean jumped or been in a car that had all 4 wheels off the ground.

There are train tracks that go across a road near me and the road was done so horribly wrong that if you were speeding when you hit the tracks I'm pretty sure you were airborne. I know the front wheels were for sure.
|
Not intentionally, but yes.
|
many times in gta3 and trackmania ... but also few times in real life in skoda felicia :)
|
Sure! Steep hill just where i live. Go over it fast enough, and you are airborne!
|
Did it with my truck one time... best jump I've seen is right here ... especially the guy's reaction lol
|
yep..I had a Subaru Brat when I was 16-17. The 1st jump was accidental, I just came over a small hill a little fast and got all 4 wheels airborne...it was too much fun, so it kinda became a weekly thing to do at our party spot in the desert..load up a cpl guys in the back and catch air..we used to bet noobs beer that I could jump the brat 20ft, nobody believed it till they saw it, but we won a lot of beer...lol Typical teenage stupidity..and in the end the Brat was never really the same afterward..I replaced CV joints 3 times in a yr and it would never align properly.
I had a lot of fun in that Brat, it would 4 wheel just about anywhere I wanted to go, was excellent in the sand and on occasion would out do the guys in the big trucks. I miss that Brat...lol |

There's a tiny bridge in my home town that is basically a hump and a few guys would hit it to see if they could get airborne and a few did. One crazy kid jumped his mom's 4 Dr. Lincoln Towncar. That was before video and I didn't take any pictures because I didn't want to encourage them but some of the jumps were legendary :winkwink:
Personally, I never tried to jump it but one time a friend and I were driving across the everglades on the old " alligator alley " early one morning before it was daylight in his grandmother's Pinto. There in front of us was a gator lying in the road stretched across our entire lane and then some. My friend was driving and didn't react in time and we hit the gator straight on at about 50 mph. The Pinto got airborne but we landed ok and thankfully my friend kept the car straight. :upsidedow |
in high school with some friends we drove over a very "steep" railroad crossing on a country road doing 60-80 miles per hour. all 4 tires left the ground but not for too long. the front doors wouldn't open without forcing them afterwards. it was just a shitty k-car.

yup, it's a weird feeling actually...

Many times, with my cousin in his old orange dodge charger. We used to run moonshine and had to run from the local sheriff many times. We'd really fuck that car up but our local shade-mechanic (a funny guy that we just called "Cooter") always got it back in shape for us.

I jumped over a bridge at about 70 to 80 mph and left the ground through a town..... Damn, its got myself & my mates buzzing! A nissan bluebird turbo... was very fucking thrilling!
|
yep, took my last gf's car and jump a set of steep RR tracks while listening to the Dukes Of Hazzard Theme. My buddy stood watch to make sure there was noone coming in the opposite direction
|
I've done it in my parents minivan in Seattle when I was in highschool. The crash of the suspension when it reaches full travel is one HELLOFABITCH... the *SLAM* right as the van gets airborn was quite unexpected.
After seeing a few roll-over death videos on some of the tube sites from kids jumping their cars... I am really glad I never attempted it again. |
