YDG 11-12-2009 03:50 AM

mikesinner 11-12-2009 03:51 AM

It's one of those movies that will attract a lot of doomsday religious crazies so I'll be waiting for a long time before I'll see it.

Good to hear. I was worried the trailer scene was going to be about it for the destruction.

Paul&John 11-12-2009 04:15 AM

Oh it's out already? Nice! Going to see it today

sexy-frenchie 11-12-2009 04:16 AM

sexdatesj 11-12-2009 10:37 AM

dyna mo 11-12-2009 10:51 AM

Apocalypse WOW!

Slutboat 11-12-2009 11:04 AM

Most absurd cheezy and fake trailer ever with the airplane taking off through the destruction.. what a load of garbage, you sheep will buy anything hollywood wants you to buy.

Slick 11-12-2009 11:08 AM

How is it out ??? The national release date is the 13th and it's only the 12th today ???

I agree with Slutboat though, watching the trailer, it looks like it's gonna be totally filled with a lot of "close-calls" through disaster.

fatfoo 11-12-2009 11:09 AM

Destruction action - I like that.

I'm not sure why so many of you assume everyone on the board lives in the same country as you, has the same rules as you, and lives in the same manner as you. Asia got this movie a few days ago. They usually get the biggest blockbusters early. No idea why, but they do.

Says the guy wasting his time on GFY.

It's called ENTERTAINMENT, and people LOVE... no they NEED to be entertained. If you understood that, you'd probably be making 100x the cash you are making today. :2 cents:

CamJack 11-12-2009 11:43 AM

Cars racing against a destructive earthquake is retarded.

MILLIONS of people are dying and I have to sympathize with Cusak and his family?!
Come on.

Retarded.

Might be better than the Tom Cruise piece of shit, but basically the same movie.

CPimp 11-12-2009 11:45 AM

Hmm will have to check it out,,, it looked pretty good and for a couple months there all I seen was about the world ending in 2012... wonder if it will happen LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!

Lace 11-12-2009 11:45 AM

I bet it'll be just as good as Paranormal Activity...

/sarcasm

nikki99 11-12-2009 12:12 PM

going this weekend :)

atom 11-12-2009 12:29 PM

geeze, people are taking this movie way too seriously in this thread. the movie looks fakey, hollywood glam in the preview sure. So was independence day, jurrasic park, spider-man, etc etc. All were kick ass movies to watch and very entertaining.

Gonna take my kid in the next couple of weeks, should be a good time.

getreal 11-12-2009 02:06 PM

2012 is only the end of one cycle and start of a new, by Mayan calendar. You can sleep at night :thumbsup

The calendar represents, 1 cycle of 12, each for the Zodiac. We're currently in the Pisces period (Jesus fish), and will be changing into Aquarius. The entire calendar is nothing more than a chart of the sun, earth, and the visible planets that repeat in a mathematical cycle, for the purpose of farming.

Earth has been around for each 'cycle' and has shown no evidence of mass destruction on or around cycle changes.

Right, but the original theory is that we will spiritually "evolve." It never had anything to do with destruction or apocalypse until people started changing up the story. Read anything by the Mayans and you will learn that they believe we pass through what they called the "Dark Rift" (the galactic plane) and then ascend into some higher realm or dimension. Will that happen? I dunno, most likely not... but that is what the calendar ending in 2012 is all about, not scary doomsday crap.

eh? not sure where you are coming from with this but the maya calendar is a long count calendar which ends in 2012, there is no maya calendar cycle for time after that.

justinsain 11-12-2009 03:37 PM

I'm going to wait and watch it in 2013

The Mayans have 3 calendars, or created 3. The 365 day, solar year. The 260 ritual calendar and the 5128 world time calendar. IE: one cycle or long count calendar, for the cycle.

Why didn't they create a day for the 366th day of the year? Because the cycle reset itself.

JamesK 11-12-2009 03:54 PM

I fucking love doomsday movies. Can't wait to check it out.

yes, the long count cycle is comprised of the 2 minor calendars. all i am saying is the maya never created the next long count calendar.

either way, 2012 is simply the end of the long count cycle. the fact the maya never wrote/laid out the next long count cycle does not mean they thought 2012 to be the end of the world

They wouldn't create the next cycle, it's the same as the first. Like year over year. They only created one 365 year calendar - and copied it, they didn't create 5000+ unique calendars.

I don't think 2012 is the end of the world... I don't think the Mayans thought it was the end of the world, but simply a cycle that reset. The calendars tracked cycles, nothing more - nothing less.

i think you are missing my point, which is that all the hoopla about 2012 is due to the fact the mayans didn't create/carve out/write/draw the next cycle's calendar. there are no artifacts of the next cycle's calendar like there are of the current one.

if they had made one, there would be no 2012 doomsday, no 2012 movie, no 2012 anything.

so i can understand people buying into the fiction. :thumbsup

Sad, but look at us... the mass majority follow books written by men 1000's of years ago, that get taken as fact today, blind facts at that.

indeed. we do need a shake-up eh! :1orglaugh

Far-L 11-12-2009 04:58 PM

Well... looking at the bright side... it couldn't be worse than Emmerich's last movie, "10,000 BC"... but then again that just means it might be a piece of shit but knowing that it is going to be a piece of shit might make avoiding stepping into it possible.

Does anyone else get the uncanny feeling he must be trying to use up cutting room floor special effects footage from his other crappy apocolypse flick "Day After Tomorrow"?
