RAIN was a great way to mix business with pleasure. We are looking forward to seeing what AVN has in store for us at Vegas.

That would be a smart issue to buy ads in for sure.

I was speaking of AVN not Internext. As far as booths. Last year AVN show floor was half the size as prior year. Im wondering if its cut in half again.

Joe, you probably know that AVN puts their name on the AEE show, but has little to actually do with the selling of booths and floorspace for that show. It's operated independently by an outside agency. However, there's no indication that the show will be cut in half.

My point is show has dramatically decreased in size ( AVN ) in last couple years. Most noticably last year. Im very curious as to number of exhibitors this year. I will once again say AVN has done this to themselves with the total disreguard for up and coming companies years back.

The show is down to one floor and if you look at the show floor plan on the link that Chris has provided, anywhere from 33% to 50% of the show remains unsold.

Its going to feel like a ghost town at AEE this year. CES has moved out of the Sands.

Michael and Joe... yes and yes. We all know that participation is lower then previous years. It's just the nature of the beast right now. Internext used to FILL the Sands Expo, and now it's hosted where size makes sense.

Like you, I'm pointing out the obvious. Regardless, if this is your business (and it is), you need to attend (if not exhibit at) AEE or Internext or both.

Not doing so is at your own business peril.

When was Internext held at the Sands Expo ? I might be wrong but I dont remember it being in the Sands. I remember it being at Mandalay prior to The Palms. Are you confusing AVN/AEE with Internext ?

Serious question... I have only gone to the past 5 or so Internext shows.

In the autumn of 1999 it was held in Miami, with the spring show in 2000 in New Orleans.
Then in January 2001/2002/2003/2004 it was at the Sands.

The first summer Internext in Hollywood was in 2002 and it's been there each summer since.
The Sands was used twice in 2001. Once in January, and again in June.

I have a fairly large 6 bedroom home in Vegas, with a big pool in the back. You can hold this shin dig at my place. Lets me honest, everyone will be able to fit. Shuttle them in with buses so parking is not an issue, it may work. You'd save a shit load of money.

Its still a great way to meet up with some friends in Vegas, but from my point of view, advertising in AVN is a complete waste of money unless you wanna win an AVN award. And even then its still useless... AVN is and was all about

Im my eyes they are getting exactly what they deserve..ghost towns of a show in comparison to very recent. They told me and many others like me to basically, stay at the back of the show and behave yourself. But they gladly tok my $5000 a month for ad space.
I wont even get into the joke called the AVN awards. ..or should we call it ..who spent most in advertising awards.

A successfu; buisness should always plan for the future..and 1000% AVN has not. Hence 33% unfilled booths as Pornlaw said.

there is a transparent voting procedure for AVN Awards, we welcome you at office to audit it. Send me an email.

I know about a company, lets call them company X, who was upgrading to a full page ad with AVN. In return, the AVN rep was going to see what he could do about company X winning some awards. They were also going to get more attention in the magazine with interviews and product write-ups.

Low and behold, for the first time ever, company X is now winning awards. What a coincidence.

Of course, I'm not saying the AVN awards are rigged. I'm just saying, what a coincidence.

I'm well aware of the process, the enormous work behind it and on top of that the web development we put for the voting process system. Additionally, for the 1st time we are making in few days available the AVN Viewers Choice Awards for 6 categories.

Cmon Soul Rebel.. who are you kidding. The small guys never stood a chance in AVNs eyes. They pushed us to the back of the shows constantly. Now that some of the big boys arent exhibiting.. its like the open desert on the show floor. The AVN awards are a FUCKING JOKE. You can show me whatever you want in your office. Come to my office and Ill show you I make 10 dollars a year. AVN never gave TWO STINKING FUCKS about anyone else but mostly the list I showed you earlier in this post. And now they are paying the price.
As far as the awards.. please dont insult our intelligence.

amacontent, you are wrong and I'm not trying to insult anyone. AVN is not going to hunt down all adult content producers to review their productions. It receives dvd titles for the review process by mail once the dates are given to public.

My knowledge of studios and content production co. is rather small, yet again I recognize most of them. Why? Because most small production co. are less informed and in general do not send any dvd to AVN's office. Of course that's not the case with the studios you posted and not only those. I have no doubt if everyone was doing that we would end up with a logistics problems, but that's another thing and not mine to figure out. The audit of the procedure is welcomed by Darren Roberts, he has done that before and I'm just extending this to you.

AVN did that in that past and I don't see an issue not to be repeated. I told this to amacontent knowing he is far from a board troll. I've seen a lot of my friends being treated well by him over the years. Seen his comments on how small guys were treated in the past in the shows is enough for me to get in touch with him, get his feedback and see how we can make things better. We live, learn, improve.

I repeated before that I'm not an AVN employee, my company (founded by two more industry "veterans") is managing the web dept of AVN and is doing consulting on the rest. We put enormous amount of work for our clients and AVN is not an exception.

Michael, you follow all AVN topics in different forums with a negativity attached. From my knowledge you represent or represented a client of yours in a lawsuit filled by AVN. You were asked before on another forum about that, you failed to answer and you disappeared. Regardless, your words don't personally inspire me fairness and I have concerns on your intentions and interests. I guess that's good for your clients, but not mine ;-)

The topic you are referring to had nothing to do with AVN. I was commenting on the AEE show and Evil Chris even stated in this thread that AVN has nothing really to do with AEE...So if I was being negative it was about the AEE show and not AVN.

I do represent a client in a matter involving AVN. I never failed to answer that question and I didnt disappear. My interests are in the representation of my client.

However, please link to a negative post I have made about AVN ?

Funny thing is, about 2-3 years later all those same booths came back but to AEE instead.
