How to verify a email addy on a join form?
 

I've seen sites doing it, if you enter a invlaid email addy it will say please enter a valid addy before they can click the join button. I'm at a total loss as to how this is done, can someone please help, thanks

you can also do a on the spot database check using ajax at the time of registration to check if a email the user is trying to join with is in use

are you sure they are not just checking the format? ie. [email protected] ?
