Best remote desktop type software for internal lan?

I use tightvnc but sometimes I have problems with real time preview of rendering and thumbs etc. Don't know if that is due tightvnc or my setup.

I use chicken of the vnc on mac for mac/windows lan boxes...

On the mac I use JollysFastVNC It's free and works great.

the free version @ www.logmein.com works just fine.

I use it on my laptop to control music on the desktop and around the house.
