Watched 'UP' last night

We wanted to see Zombieland but it was sold out. So, at the last moment we went into the 3d showing of UP since it was starting. We ended up loving it! A row full of 30 somethings crying at one point but laughing most of the rest of the time.

Thumbs up and recommended but bring tissues.

yea i watched on the big screen when it came out. Not too shabby of a cartoon for all...

LiveDose 10-29-2009 04:29 AM

Recommended for kids or no? I heard the story line is a little heavy or even dark?

SimonScans 10-29-2009 04:34 AM

Kids won't get the dark bits, it's sad like the bit in Toy Story where the kid grows up and stops playing with the cowgirl.

100% recomended.

3D rocks too, so don't accidentally watch the non 3D showings they put on.

LiveDose 10-29-2009 04:36 AM

Thanks Simon, sounds great.

Sarah_Jayne 10-29-2009 04:51 AM

The kids in the cinema were laughing at all the right places but not crying where the adults were. So, I think it is perfectly balanced.

CaptainHowdy 10-29-2009 05:41 AM

That one sounds like a downer...

sexy-babes.tv 10-29-2009 05:42 AM

I've seen it twice now in 3d with my kids, and Im not afraid to say I cried both times.. haha. im a soppy twat

Sarah_Jayne 10-29-2009 05:56 AM

I don't think it is a downer..it is all very well balanced with laughs.

FrozenJag 10-29-2009 06:35 AM

My mom and I seen it. lol. (fuck you if you dont hang out with your mom) :)

Anyway, we both really liked it and definetly reccomend for all ages.

It did get a little slow in the middle but for the most part was great movie.

My favorite of the year.

Yes, I cried like a little bitch. All the dog pack stuff was fantastic.

My hubby has always teased our two dogs by randomly saying 'squirrel!' and watching them go randomly running after the invisible squirrel ..so that running joke had me in stitches.

I just watched it recently for the first time and absolutely fell in love with. Pixar can really do no wrong.

It just felt like they really nailed the way dogs think. It wasn't just the main dog character, who was great, but the whole pack was hilarious.

I really wanted to like Up. I waited patiently for months until it came out. The trailer looked awesome. When I actually saw it, I just thought it was a little boring. It certainly didn't match up to my expecations. It was a bit of a let down-I was much more impressed with Toy Story, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, etc. It was cute and I think kids can handle it but I didn't find it incredibly memorable, personally.

MAX AND MARY! WOW! Now THAT'S a movie!

tranza 10-29-2009 10:11 AM

I saw the trailler and looked very good...i will check it out!

ProG 10-29-2009 10:26 AM

I love all animated movies. Kung Fu panda is probably my favorite at the moment. UP was pretty good, I was surprised by all the depressing moments but overall its a great movie.

Tom_PM 10-29-2009 10:32 AM

Sounds like it'll make it onto the dvd christmas list (if it's out on dvd).

edit: ah, amazon says nov 10th release on dvd

See..I am a widow and I thought those moments were sad but also gave hope. I thought it wasn't overly depressing even though sad.

I love the opening sequence. Yes, it's sad...but what a great beginning to a great movie.
