Custom is the only way to go if you're serious about making a dating site.

thought about posting a job on scriptlance or guru, but your going to get guys from India or Russia who will give you something modified out of a box. Might look to work with someone local in the future.

If you do some online searches you will find a bunch of scripts even open source...but nothing blowing me away yet. :2 cents:

my buddy is using OS Date, it's open source. He fixed a few bugs in it and it works ok for him. I wasn't very impressed with it at all.

I'm currently working on getting a custom script going. Definitely the way to go.

I looked at a bunch of scripts about a year ago for a local college town dating site and the options then were abysmal. I started to code my own but I stopped after about 30 hours of development.

It's all in Python using the Django framework and MySQL. If anyone wanted to get in on development with me, that might give me some motivation to finish it and would give a contributor or two a great script in exchange for some labor.

We might be able to sort anyone with traffic and a medium sized budget with a whitelabel solution, contact me on ICQ.
