Some of the first sites I ever built were on Geocities, Angelfire, Tripod, etc.

I wish I could find them they gotta be up somewhere, this was like 10+ years ago though.

My first ever site (which actually wasn't porn) was on them. I stopped updating it when it was bought by Yahoo and I couldn't get logged in.

Ah I remember the days of my first Angelfire pages..

I personally enjoyed trolling through West Hollywood and seeing everyone post their crossdressing pics. Today, they all are on YouTube :)

Wow... I started my first site on Geocities about 8 years ago. Tripod was another favorite of mine and some of my old celeb sites were still active until a few months ago...

never used it, bought my own hosting as soon as i figured out how to ftp LOL

no more geocities? no more annoying, but "tolerable" (because you don't have a host) Ads....

Tripod is still around..every now and then we have a new webmaster signup and try to build their sites on Tripod.

Wow.. the end of an era! Kinda sad, in a way.

I feel like a small part of my childhood is dying today along with geocities! I'll miss those horribly designed sites! :)

Makes me feel old thinking about those old sites! Seems like forever ago!

Yeah, remember the horrible blink tag, and when the browsers first stopped supporting it. What a relief! And Geocities, all those horrible pages, when one had to learn tables, hexadecimal colors and so on. Oh, those were the days! :)

Myspace profiles all look like they were designed by Geocities pros.

It's the end of an era. Did Yahoo make any money with it?

geocities heralded the age of the Web 2.0 free pages/parasite hosts. Another honorable mention goes out to TERRA.ES for being "kind" enough to host MGP clips back in the days when hosting cost an arm and a leg.

I remember showing my wife in 2006 some geocities porn pages I made in 2000 (at the age of 17)... I was happy they were still up so I could show my progression and shit. Shoulda made some screen caps. :Oh crap

I remember looking up weird movie fan sites and craft tutorials that were just text with no pictures. The net didn't seem so infinite back then.

over a decade ago I built my first ever website with Geocities, was a site dedicated to Pearl Jam, how times have changed!

I always thought people on angelfire were newbies..lol

Needless to say, I had offloaded some clips on terra.es in one of my countless accounts there.
