The mother of a Colorado boy thought to be aboard a homemade helium balloon has admitted to investigators the whole thing was a hoax, according to a court document made public on Friday.

So the parents knew the boy was at home, but they still encouraged rescue teams to track the balloon.

What a hoax indeed.

"The motive for the fabricated story was to make the Heene family more marketable for future media interest," the affidavit states.

The village idiot beat you by two hours.

They need jail time for this.

I can see getting nailed for the costs but come on the rest is just BS charges and I fucking hate that.

Yeah it was a PR stunt gone wrong. It wasted money and peoples time. What few laws that were broken were super minor. I just feel if I support them getting jailed or having their kids taken away then I would be a super fucking huge hypocrite.

They should be sued and forced to repay the money wasted on the search. I also think child services should look into the family. If they were willing to tell the kids to lie for this, who knows what they will want them to do next.

To me there is a difference between putting your kids on TV for a reality show and telling them to hide and lie to the police and anyone who asks to pull off a hoax.

I'm not saying their kids should be taken away, but I don't see the harm in looking into the family to make sure that there isn't other problems with it. To me anyone who does this kind of thing is pretty unstable so there very well could be other problems with the family.

Find the two episodes of wife swap they were on. Of course they are fucked up and that is putting it kindly. Although idiots and well they may do stuff that is super idiotic. You will also notice they are pretty protective over their kids. Very odd, in one way they do and would put them in harms way and at same time are super protective.

They are just wacko. You really need to watch the two shows. I also would love to see all of the extra footage they dropped to get those two shows with each being an hour in length.
