Is that the one where the wings can be detached in less than a min? I think I've seen one that can drive, fly, AND go in water.

kinda of strange looking

Adam X 10-16-2009 03:21 PM

I heard there's one that can drive, fly, go in water, and has little ice skate blades that come out so you can land in the ice and do dips n twirls n stuff.

lol

The wings fold up in car mode, for driving, and for fitting into your garage.

The best is that it is probably classified as a ultrasport by the FAA and you can easily get a license to fly it -- only 20 hours of time needed.

But does it come in blue?

After Shock Media 10-16-2009 10:08 PM

Such things scare me. Not of heights or flying it. Just of others up there driving around. One thing to get your car dinged in a hit and run, another thing to have a plane slapping your house.

I can just imagine the insurance on driving one.

There is a video of one that folds up and fits in a single car garage.

Most ultrasports are $75,000 to $125,000. Cant fly at night, cant fly in bad weather and can only carry 1 other passenger. It runs on gasoline and gets about 400 miles to the tank. Top speed is about 160 mph. Cruising speed is closer to 100-120 mph.

Great idea for good weather states like So Cal if you have business in other areas like Vegas, Phoenix, SF, San Diego... makes getting there so easy.

Best part -- since its a plane you can finance it over 15 yrs if you want which means the payment is less than $500 a month.

From an old concept....

Molt Taylor sold this particular Aerocar, Serial No. 4, to TV actor Bob Cummings, who owned it from 1960 to 1965. A suave ladies? man, Cummings often used his Aerocar to fly from Van Nuys to Palm Springs, California. Passengers included Marilyn Monroe and Lana Turner.
