Newbie starting in the biz with a TGP

Newbie starting in the biz with a TGP

I have a friend interested in starting in the adult/xxx biz for the first time.

He wants to start a small tgp and go from there.

What script would you recommend as easiest but powerful?

We are very curious also since we've only submitted and never ran a tgp.

Tell him to go to McDonalds instead

He'll make a lot more money, and much sooner.

baddog 10-15-2009 02:30 PM

This is not 1997. TGP's are not a great way to break in the biz.

96ukssob 10-15-2009 02:30 PM

TGPX for sure :thumbsup

Babaganoosh 10-15-2009 02:31 PM

TGPs have been dead for years. Most of us have moved on to selling stolen content.

JD 10-15-2009 02:31 PM

tell him to quit now. seriously.

leg4 10-15-2009 02:34 PM

I told him that its such a fucked up, hard biz right now with p2p and torrents... that it would be hard to make real $

He insisted that just 4-5 signups a month would be fine and I told him--yeah a TGP could do that.

We have a couple feeder sites to begin some traffic to it.

He obviously is smarter than the rest of us.

BADDOG: I've been in the biz for 10+ years so I guess its hard for me to see anything else.... When he asked where he should start - I didn't really know how to answer.

How/where would you suggest a newbie start?

HowlingWulf 10-15-2009 02:35 PM

TGP is the wrong starting point. Try blogging instead.

I would suggest blogging. Allows him to do mainstream and adult. Better idea would be if he had any skills that he could sell as a service to webmasters.

Yes---absolutely we are also asking for ourselves... Our little 2-man company has never run a TGP---and was curious which was the best script as of 10/15/2009.

96ukssob 10-15-2009 02:44 PM

TGPs will return... mark my words. history will repeat itself :thumbsup

You make a great point----porn is rough these days...If someone learns the blogging concepts---they can use it in porn, mainstream, etc, etc,

halfpint 10-15-2009 02:45 PM

Or better still tell him to start a network of whitelabel dating sites :2 cents:

bDok 10-15-2009 04:07 PM

tell him blogs. Make lots of blogs.

:1orglaugh

You crack me up.

Are you posting this because you have run out of ideas and want someone to give you some or something?

Seems a bit weird if you have "10 years experience" yet you are asking here for ideas.

Surely if you have 10 years experience you should be able to show him the ropes.

Or am I missing something here?

Any way good luck to him :thumbsup

well if your only familiar with submitting then why wouldn't you teach him how to submit successfully maybe hook him up with some of your partner accounts and let him go from there?:2 cents:

If you/he is set on the TGP at least setup a blog and send TGP traffic to the blog as that is what will convert for you. I setup a TGP not because I actually expected a sale but because I could trade with others as well as send clicks to my blog because waiting for the search engines to give a new blog good ranking takes a little while.

Iron Fist 10-15-2009 10:58 PM

I wanna see this TGP.... whats the URL please?

flip.green 10-15-2009 11:23 PM

Blogs the cheapest thing going right now, fewer newbie tears if you go that route. The TGP game is vicious right now you sort of need to know what your doing ahead of time.

If you are just a gluten for punishment try the TGP out below are a couple links that should get you up and running

lol, torrents and p2p have never hurt the industry and only a uneducated moron would think it does.

TGPs are a better way to start than blogs.

You must work harder now and invest more to do well.

Tubes are hurting the industry but not as much as we are complaining about.

Dirty Dane 10-15-2009 11:52 PM

As I read it, the OP ask how to start - not how to make gold from day 1.

A TGP is a good start. To get familiar with the structure, organizing and sponsors. Then after 1 month +/-, he can expand to multiple domains and build up some traffic. If he make 100 dollars per month "only" per TGP, then 10,20 or 50 TGPs is still decent money, when it's all on autopilot. Hosting is cheap - so is TGP scripts now. And they support multiple domains. Fake blogs... Less costs...
When time is right, add movies and make combo "TGPs". Then both photo and movie promo is covered.

My general advice is:
- Stay organized on everything from day 1 (mistake I've done :) ) Sponsors, codes, database, templates etc. So you can use it across domains and pages.
- Don't spend too much time on design. Surfers watch content, not your design. The simpler the better. Spend it rather on choosing the best content and best/undersaturated sponsors.
- Create portals on your MAIN site. Portals convert more than the galleries. You should guide, not "deliver".
- Make a balanced amount of archives or themes for the sites, and tag them.
- Don't fuck with the surfers.
- Don't fap to your own work.
...

Good luck.

digitaldivas 10-16-2009 01:15 AM

Good Luck :thumbsup

Raf1 10-16-2009 01:40 AM

tgps are so 98, lol

cloudtap 11-04-2009 11:30 AM

TGPs are TGPX but its true, we are going onto promoting illegal content and setting up autoblogs in the diff niches.

cloudtap 11-04-2009 11:51 AM

I'd say try the white labels as well as ecommerce sites and affiliate superstores

Stephen 11-04-2009 12:08 PM

I'd offer that the type of site isn't as important as what you do with it :2 cents:

A TGP is just a tool, like a hammer.

But just because you own a hammer, it doesn't mean you can build a house.

To answer the OP, I like the TGPX server edition :thumbsup

ruff 11-04-2009 01:26 PM

When everybody says you're a fool for starting a TGP. It must be time to start a TGP!

Argos88 11-04-2009 02:50 PM

lol dude.... a TGP in 2009??? lol...
