I do understand - though they do say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and personally I would rather look at one picture from a poster than read their one thousand words

A damn good point and now that I think about it I agree. If they were not posting stupid pictures they would be posting stupid words...and the picture IS easier to tolerate.
