Im not religious but this was BREATH TAKING.. PICS
I grew up Catholic kid and by no way am I religious, but unknowingly I went to the Vatican this morning for some photos and the Pope was delivering mass. There had to be 50,000 people outside from all parts of the world. For sure one of the top moments of my life simply because of the history. Pics i took from one of the 6 jumbo trons they had there. I hope you all enjoy and some day get to experience what I did this morning.

Cool shots, thx for sharing them with us :)

I agree that would be breathtaking for the architecture alone.
|
Incredible. Would love to do that one day. What time did the mass start? Might actually book a trip to Rome for this.

You should have asked the pope about his time in the SS......
|
Nice pix

I was hoping this thread was going to have some sexy lesbian nuns........ kind of a let down.
|
We lost Joe :Oh crap
|
Must have been great out there.Nice pics but the feeling must be for the ones present,as you said.
|
I've been to the Vatican, it is quite a breath taking place. Tons of great artwork and history. Everyone should see the Michaelangelo fresco and to be frank, Italy in general. Simply amazing.
|
I'm not religious either but my first impact with the Vatican city was incredible. The architecture is incredible.
|
The number of idiots in this thread overcount the number of pedos over there.
Nice pics! I was there and I liked it a lot, its a beautiful place. |
Good stuff!! More pics.
|
have you seen Donny? :glugglug

'I grew up a Catholic kid and by no way am I religious'. Such a common statement these days.

Thats one of the reasons I like going to church ... not overly because of the recycled content of the sermons etc, but because of the cool atmosphere, great people, and always feel good for 1-2 days after :)
Looks like the atmosphere was buzzing there! |
What a nice touch - watching the Pope on a Panasonic JumboTron - A-Fucking-Men! :thumbsup

when i went to Rome the cabbie robbed me - the hotel changed my reservation and sent me to a shit hole - then we got food poisoning. Don't want to go back.
but the history there is AMAZING. love the more roman stuff though |

Must have been quite an experience... |
My first thought several times in various places in the vatican was "religious people have way too much money."
|
Architecture, Art, History, Michaelangelo, Italy: Cool.
Pope? Vatican? Meh. - Church Fails to resolve abuse cases - Pope Benedict XVI was a Nazi. - Pope says condoms increase AIDs problem |
pretty cool!
|
i was recently in latin america, it is amazing how friggin poor these people are and how big the catholic church really is..
i am not sure it is good influence though. |
thats pretty crazy. one thing i wish i was able to do when I was there last year was to visit the Vatican more, but didnt have a whole lot of time. tried to squeeze in Rome in about a day and a half, then get back up to Venice before we had to leave.
Next time I would probably spend a few days there |

although now that i think about it i remember they just didn't let me inside the st. pauls cathedral - rest of the Vatican was ok. but maybe they also relaxed a little, i was there in 1990 |

nice shots though. |
I am not religious these days and when I was I was protestant but if I ever get to Rome you better believe I am going to the Vatican too. It is like how I love Canterbury Cathedral over here. You don't have to be religious to be impressed by architecture and history.
|
very cool.
Monestaries and convents offer lodging. That way, one can get an unforgettable experience. |
