you have something you wrote or ...?

quiet 10-10-2009 04:07 PM

currently writing, but i'd like a complete solution to transfer it all to.

You do have me slightly confused with the covers aspects.
Also as the writer wouldnt you decide where the chapters are?

Lastly - write the content? Do you mean you want to talk it into your computer or...

quiet 10-10-2009 04:23 PM

simple cover, yes i decide the chapters lol. yes, write the content myself.

it's a simple question, i want an all in one piece of software that you can build an entire book withouth having to fuck around with other pieces of software :) does it exist for the mac? i can't find one.

Next time I'm in Starbucks I'll ask one of the unemployed hipsters what they are using.

Not sure about the cover but as for organizing the writing Scrivener is prob the best - http://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener.html

Pages, which is part of iWork, should be able to do what you need.

does anyone know any similar tools for Win XP?

Libertine 10-10-2009 06:38 PM

Personally, I use Ulysses. The perfect writing tool, in my opinion.

You want Avenir.

http://returnself.com/

keeps track of people in the story, chapters, etc etc etc.

quiet 10-10-2009 11:08 PM

damn, several of these programs look great. out of the ones everyone linked, what in your opinion is going to work at the best for a non-fiction story?
