Cross Burning Case

A cross burning case is in front of the Supreme Court.

I hate racism and bigotry, but I love The First Amendment more. If someone wants to burn 100 KKK crosses on his own property, I don't see a Constitutional issue there. If it's intimidating to some people, so be it. Many other expressions of Freedom of Speech could be intimidating to some people, as well. Are we going to limit the freedom of expression whenever it makes someone feel uncomfortable or threatened?

Your fist's freedom of expression ends when it gets to my nose. People who are intimidated by symbols need to get counseling, not Constitutional relief.

I agree.

Burning crosses harms noone.

Offends yes, but no harm.

I believe that people have the right to believe and express whatever they want, no matter how ignorant I think they are, no matter how much I don't agree with it.

They can burn a thousand crosses, as long as they do it in their own backyard I could not care less.

Yeah... but if they do it on MY property, they better bring some beer and hot dogs for the BBQ. Otherwise Im filing a trespassing complaint.

We need to get back to burning big upside down crosses.

Any of you ever see the big cross they have on the 101 Freeway at Hollywood and Highland exits.

Doubt many of you have, nonetheless theres a huge (lit up at night) 8-9 foot white cross at the top of the Hill, privately owned.

I laugh when I drive by, usually stuck in heavy traffic, which is obviously why it was placed there, so all the traffic would see it everyday.

Is there a difference between lighting this up nightly and a flaming cross?

I think christian values are just as threatening as racist values.

(let the flame begin)

I kinda like it when the Klan burns crosses ... between the light from the fire and them white robes, you won't even need night vision gear to target them.
