You do realize the final nomination date was Feb 1, 2009, less than two weeks after taking office, right?

This world must be more fucked up than I thought if there was no other more deserving.

BradM 10-09-2009 01:20 PM

At least democrats and republicans can come together on ONE thing.

Obama winning is fucking retarded.

dyna mo 10-09-2009 01:24 PM

dude, this guy is taking a lot of steps to bring people together, when there was a lot of absense of that imo in years past.

if nothing else, when im overseas and hear people rave about him in an amazing way, i think its well deserved

i hear people bitch about him every day. he may not do what people like all the time, but the direction he is bring us i think is the right direction

Europeans Billing Europe!

It's one thing to win the Presidency with a good speech and no accomplishments because we were starved for HOPE and CHANGE - but to win the Nobel Peace Prize for no accomplishments and a good speech?

Next year he'll get the Nobel Prize for Economics...

Nobel Peace Prize 2009 = Consolation Prize from the International Olympic Committee :winkwink:

Truth in my eyes is he should of not won the award. But what is done is done. Just gives more fuel for the right to bash him even more. We as a country are fucked for the next 3 years. Everything will be locked and blocked.

Its the only way the right has to get into the good gracie of America. I personally like him and voted for him and feel he has the best intentions. But same old political bullshit will be deployed again over the next 3 years. The rich get richer the poor get poorer.

yes, USA

i hated what bush did and mccain/palin wouldnt have done any better.

every person i hear bitch about bush, i ask if mccain/palin would have done better, and their answer typically is "well, i dont really like them either"

but you have to make a choice, 66% of the population did, and we stick with it

the people bitching about it, thats all they can do, bitch. keep it coming

Like I have always said if people who don't like either candidate and vote for the "lesser evil" were to vote for a third party candidate we would actually have a viable third party in this country. But people aren't really interested in that.

People will complain about Obama until he is out of office (be that in 3 years or 7 years) then they will bitch about whoever takes over after him.

DaddyHalbucks 10-09-2009 06:55 PM

I don't want to be a global citizen, I want to be a free American.

QFT

I love seeing all these idiots getting themselves in a tizzy every time a new president gets in office. It is always the same with them. This president is going to destroy America. This has been said by someone for every single president that has been in office.

They may get lucky though and get the guy they want in office but guess what? The people on the other side now raise up in arms, saying we now have the worst president ever and that he is going to destroy America.

It is a vicious circle of insanity.

Exactly. Had McCain won it would be the democrats complaining and their complaints would sound just like the republican complaints that we hear about Obama. Same shit different group of people.

magpan 10-09-2009 09:08 PM

He'll probably earn this over the coming years. But, it seems that Nobel was being presumptuous and even 'playing politics' here. :)

Ah, the special ninavain kind of idiocy. GFY, bitch.

Lykos 10-10-2009 07:49 AM

I like Obama actually :)

jwerd 10-10-2009 08:53 AM

Let's just work harder in 2010 to make our elected officials of our individual states more accountable, and if they aren't, let's work to throw them out and get some real people in there for change. Obama never brought change. We will never see "change" from the executive branch, we've gotta start at our state levels and make sure these pathetic bills never even see the light of day, much less passed any committee to even be thought of being voted on.

I am so sick of the left/right debates. There are good lefts and there are good rights, there is just little to no accountability on what they do. Only recently have I seen a surge in the US of people upset with one thing or another and calling in huge volumes, protesting to support or cry about a bill they don't support. Let's keep that foward momentum.

I feel that's where change will come from. The bottom up, just like it was intended in the first place by our founding fathers. WE THE PEOPLE. :2 cents:

He's been all talk and no action.... just like his campaign that got him elected... I understand the whole "it'll take time" thing, but when are we going to see actionable items being addressed.. I like Obama too, but the fluff needs to stop and shit needs to start getting done.

Honestly, I think the Peace Prize was a bit premature as well... the prize is supposed to recognize people who have done something to support peace... not reward people who talk about it and do nothing. :2 cents:
