Why Adult?
 

Was thinking today about my very first adult site.

What caused you to get into adult? Why this business as opposed to any of the multitude of things you could have started out with?

I was cleaning up bookmarks and found this very basic site for an AVS program on Web Sex Network! It's no longer loading otherwise I'd link it.

I remember I came across this like 8 page article on hosts4porn about how to setup a porn network, different tactics of like situating sites and how to make a site sell (with text and very few images!). I got really curious and interested and jumped right in feet first.

I spent that entire summer cooped up on Compuserve just building, reading and learning as much as I possibly could. Seems like an age ago.

The Money, The Pussy and The Innovative Technologies in adult made me do it :-)

I started out producing, so obviously it was seeing people fucking on camera!

Adult is a closed industry with limited marketing abilities, too much competition, oversaturated products, products that are free everywhere you look, where only the premium consumer (or the stupid one) wants to pay for the premium stuff.

We still bank a lot on it, yet mainstream is a blessing compared to adult. So many products are NOT free, there's less competition, or at least competition that has no clue and with marketing the sky is the limit.

Whoever can't make it in mainstream will burn in adult. Unless if you have a ton of resources, be it cash or traffic wise. But then again, if you couldn't make it mainstream with all of that...

Oh, forgot to add... we started in adult because a friend of a friend was making a killing with it. We got there too, but then realized the future is "outside". We kept the adult and we laugh all the way to the bank every time, yet...

I needed a way to work from home so that I could look after my then husband who was disabled. It was this or Avon.

I ran a celebrity fansite a long time ago, I threw some adult banners on there just on a whim seeing if they would sell. They did very well and it was my first "big money" I ever made and it allowed me to be one of those people who has never worked for anyone else, just myself.

Basically fell into it, I had no intentions of doing this. I have told people I knew when I was younger and they respond with "what? really?"

Porn is fun to work with, I think everyone will tell you that.

I was 16, the money was good and the product was .. hmm nice ..

Several years ago for the phrase "Webmasters, make money" Google gave me a bunch of links leading to adult affiliate programs:)

Because I can't get out of the house.........

Just tried it to se if I could make tons of money... eventually building up to making enough money that now I can't quit.
