We'll is there a list of the biggest online companies in the adult business? We all know the big companies but is there a list that ranks them according to gross revenue, profit, employees and so on?

Don't really know how it's in the states, canada or australia but isn't all this public? Here in Sweden you can call up our version of the IRS and get all the info you ever wanted on a company.

Would be fun to know exactly how much all the big companies make...

You're not a native English speaker, so I won't make fun of you, but just so you know "we'll" is the contraction of "we will." What you wanted to say was "Well," a word which means nothing other than that the speaker/writer was thinking and momentarily had nothing meaningful to say. It's a space or time filler.

heh i know that...and i know that i should type I but the grammar gets a little bit sucky when i type fast...

from bizjournals.com

Laurel-based Digex, through its affiliation with Business Internet, hosts Sexspy.com, one of the top 20 sites in the adult industry, with 1.3 million unique visitors in May. Digex's primary business comes from high-end Web-hosting for major corporations, such as United Airlines. But it also hosts erotica like 4Asiansmut.com and Amateurfreehost.com.

Verio, which has 500 employees in the D.C. area and has a major data center in Springfield, hosts Pimpserver.com, which drew 1.7 million visitors in May.

UUNet, an Ashburn-based subsidiary of WorldCom, hosts Cybererotica.com, one of the top sites in the online porn industry.

Level 3 Communications, a Colorado-based Internet firm that has a data center in McLean, hosts dozens of porn sites, including Smutserver.com, Playboy.com and Sleazydream.com.

Exodus, which has a campus of data centers in Sterling, hosts a site called Adultfriendfinder.com, a directory for swingers and sex personal ads.

1.7 million visitors a month? who they kidding i guess they didn't know it was every day

As per Frontline report............

"... 'American Porn' is a candid, adults-only report on a multibillion-dollar business that's come out of dark alleys and seedy shops to settle in America's living rooms. Frontline gets down with the dirty in this enlightening survey of people who produce porn, big corporations (like General Motors and AT&T) that distribute it, and Justice Department lawyers who have fought it in the courts".

They big enough?

KRL 12-11-2002 11:57 PM

Yeh, that's funny most AT&T shareholders don't realize they are pornographers. Hehehe. I forget the exact number but I think it was about $20 million a month net that MaBell makes on porn pay-per-view distribution through its cable network.
