I think it's the other way around. I saw Mushroomhead back in '96 opening for The Genitorturers (this was at Peabody's in Cleveland and Mushroomhead was still considered a local band) and their "shtick" consisted of wearing cheesy devil Halloween masks. When Mushroomhead got big they ripped a lot of their look off of Slipknot.

Damn, I just gave my 11 year old niece a bunch of my old Slipknot concert shirts since she is now listening to them, and I didn't realize she wore one that said "People=Shit" on the back to school the other day. My sister is less than pleased with me...

That can be debated, and being from Ohio, the debate here always favors the local band. Not really a debate I wade into as neither is really my thing, but I have to say Slipknot puts on a more well rounded show.

I went to HFStival many years ago with my friend whose father owned a big tire company and had a luxury suite. The "interview suite" was a few doors down. I was drunk and stoned and saw a bunch of guys that looked retarded. I pointed and laughed at them to their face. It was slipknot. Oops. I had no idea who they were. They were really cool about it and I was really embarrassed about it.

Never mind. That was ICP.
