Been playing with my new camera and found a couple nice spiders working away, so thought I would try to focus in on their work.

It's an orb weaver. They stay outside and away from people. Eat up all the musquitos and flies that venture into the web. They're good to have around if you have issues with musquitos.

those are some fine pictures...

I fed an orb weaver like that last season at about this time. Used to catch the biggest moths I could find and pop them into his web. He got fatter and fatter. One day I stunned a cricket and put that in the web. He spent about 3 days eating it, no joke. Was the biggest spider I'd ever seen by the time winter came.

not really a fan of spiders. Wife got bitten on Monday by a Brown Recluse the doctor thinks. Not cool when we are supposed to fly to Vegas Friday morning and it's right around her knee so hard to walk.

Wow, that sucks. Hope she recovers in time for Vegas.
