How bad is the weakening dollar fucking non-US webmasters? Any of you guys feeling the pain? I thought today would be an up day for the greenback after support from 3 countries.

It's fucked up. It's been like taking a 10-15% pay-cut the last 3 months.

its worked in my favour, i mean i dont exchange from £ to $ as that would cripple me and anyone who does has my sympathy, but converting from $ to £ is makine me a lot more than the previous years where $400 used to average at about £210 its now worth around £250!

Just take 25% of your money and throw it away. You will know what EU webmasters are filling now ;)

it sucks, i'm thinking of moving soon to somewhere where the conversion ratios will be better as its just getting worse here.

meh, it sucks but i also buy a lot of stuff so its pro and con for me. it wasn't too long ago we were getting 20 cents on the dollar, now we're getting 4-5 cents.

not only is biz a bit slow lately, combine it with the exchange rates, and you guys get fucked from both ends... gotta suck badly...

its depressing.

how about looking at it the other way... "how great was life when the dollar was strong and my currency was weak"

As Altwebdesign mentioned, the weak pound means UK people are seeing favorable conversions with USD to GBP. Currently about 1.6 dollars to the pound. I remember when it was close to 2:1.

Rather than worry about your dwindling income, think about reducing costs... if you have 10 servers, can you do the same with 5? If you have an ageing server costing you $500/mo at a host which has a better spec version for a lower tag price on their site then why aren't you asking for a discount?

On an overall scale it's not affecting me too much. partly because I travel accross the Atlantic often enough and partly because earnings are mainly in $ but also costs. I rarely do currerncy conversions, and should it be specifically bad one way, I usually just allocate more work to be done and paid in that specific region and that currency, € or $.

It fucking hurts, Its just an extra pinch again. So many knocks at the moment. Hard to stay standing up.

A while ago in Australia one dollar was worth 62 cents. The other day the exchange was 88.77 cents, so it's fucking us significantly!

I was looking at Australia last November just after the election and $1000USD was worth $1668AUD. Today $1000USD is worth $1126AUD. Thats a drop of $542AUD per $1000. That really has to hurt if you were depending on the currency difference to help cover cost.
