viewing .htaccess in ftp
i'm sure i'm gonna get flamed for this...
i just downloaded AceFTP. How do I go about viewing my .htaccess/.htpasswd files? and what about in Coffee Cup Direct FTP |
Just open it in notepad.
Then edit the file. Then re-upload in ASCII Set your permissons... Then your set |
that's not the problem...
once the files are uploaded, they're hidden i want to unhide them |
Talk to your host.
Its a server configuration that hides them. He is probaly using plesk....or something like that. He can make them all appear for ya! |

Search for ?server applied filters? in settings and add ?-al? in the remote filters field. Isn?t scary as it sounds =) |
Its a server issue your host can set the permissions so you can see the .htaccess file
|
it could be in the ftp program?
i would check the options in the software i think some hide the .htaccess and .htpasswd on purpose |
How to ask AceFTP to show me hidden files?
. This configuration is in each site properties. Go in the properties of your site, in the GENERAL tab... you'll see a line named "Listing parameter", check the box to Override ancestor's values.... then check the line "Show hidden files". Just below that, also check the line "Hide files beginning with a .", and uncheck the "Enabled" line below. |
i love all the conflicting answers

sure man..
its like a car always check the easiest thing to fix first :) |
