Worst Coach in the NFL.. Tom Cable or Eric Mangini??

Thoughts?

Mangini is soo over rated it almost hurts.

Next year lots of spots open up, and lots of good options out there.

Dungy, Cowher both are gonna want to come back.

I think Mangini may be the worst. I don't think Cable is so bad. It is not his fault that Davis sabotages every draft and that he is stuck with JaMarcus Russell at QB. It is not his fault that Davis wasted their first round pick on Darrius Heyward-Bey who cannot catch anything. No one can win with Russel as their QB and Heyward-Bey as their #1 receiver. Give him a chance to remake the team a bit and I think he would do a good job.

The most overrated coaches in the nfl used to be Ditka and Holmgren, but I don't know if they were the worst.

I could have won superbowls with those teams and Holmgreen would have lost if Parcels hadn't been on the phone making a deal with the New York Jets

ADL Colin 09-30-2009 12:09 PM

Raheem Morris. This guy has no business being an NFL coach.

Mangini is very overrated. his first year in NY they called him Mangenius LOL

Agreed. It is incomprehensible that they fired Gruden to hire that idiot.

Easily Jim Zorn.

I still think he was one of the greatest coaches ever, but remember how pathetic Joe Gibbs was when he returned in the 21st century. I even question Parcels legacy today now that I see Belichick on the Patriots and remember that Parcels never accomplished anything without him, even though I guess coaching is delegating if you're any good.

Raiders defensive assistant Randy Hanson met with investigators from the Napa Valley Police Department last week and told them that Tom Cable was responsible for a broken jaw that he suffered back on August 5, at the team?s training camp facility. The incident occurred during a meeting that included a few other Raiders defensive assistants, who have also met with detectives regarding the matter.

Hanson?s lawyer, John McGuinn, confirmed that the coach, who was told to stay away from the team?s facilities following the altercation, met with the po po and dropped the dime on Cable, after previously refusing to speak on the situation. McGuinn said that the incident was ??a textbook case of felony assault.?

While police have yet to make a decision on whether to charge Cable, he might be in some deep do do. You can best believe that Hanson will struggle to find another league job after dropping the dime. Nobody likes a tattle tale.
Cable's record is 5-10 so far with the Raiders. The Raiders are currently 30th (out of 32 teams) in scoring. If he can't get the offense ignited sometime soon, his career as a Head Coach will be short.

Of course, his legal issue (and what the NFL decides to do about it), may make his tenure as Head Coach a moot point.

What used to be a finely run organization and team is now among the dregs of the league, and I am afraid that is where they will remain until Al Davis either truly passes the reigns over to a competent GM and good Head Coach, or until Al Davis passes on.

The game has passed him Al Davis by...but he is to proud/stupid to accept that, or else he has nothing better to do at this late stage in his life (Davis is 80 years old). :2 cents:

Agreed, I don't think Cable can be blamed for the fucking mess he inherited. It's tough to show your coaching chops when you have Al Davis constantly calling down from his private box telling you to run a certain play. Not to mention Al Davis' repulsive personnel moves.

I see a lot of people saying the game has passed Al Davis by. I don't agree with that. I honestly believe that there is some Alzheimer's or dementia going on there. The guy can barely remember people's names. He is a fucking legend, but I don't think it's a case of him being sharp but not understanding football anymore. I think it's strictly Al's mental state deteriorating...

God, Ryan Leaf thinks JaMarcus was a bad pick. He's been horrible. I love my Chargers but if the Raiders had a halfway decent QB they'd have lost by 2 TDs or more easily in that first game. I'm surprised the Raiders can retain any coach right now - them and the Lions.
