after 3 games who's already writing off another NFL season?

it's brutal being a fan of a shitty franchise in the NFL, you wait months and months which seem like an eternity and then within a few weeks you realize it's the same old shit and your team is going nowhere again.

Bills fan here. Wasn't expecting much, but still too early to write them off completely.

dyna mo 09-30-2009 08:17 AM

i am loving this season so far! the games have been fun to watch. defenses are mind-blowing complicated and offenses are making play adjustments up till the moment the ball is hiked.

it's cat and mouse! yessssssssssssss.

Especially since the Bills just spanked the Bucs around 2 weeks ago.

NaughtyRob 09-30-2009 09:37 AM

I still have faith in my Steelers to make the playoffs.

After 3 weeks, I'm already pissed at the nfl tv rules. Last 2 weeks I look forward to seeing a game, and thats the one game that FOX or CBS decides to run B movies instead of football.

J. Falcon 09-30-2009 09:49 AM

As a hardcore Redskins fan, this has been a recurring theme for me over the last few years. And the worst part is I don't see it getting better any time soon.

Is that because of the new blackout thing? I am really disappointed at the league for doing this shit. The greed of these people is just mind blowing. With the country suffering from economic depression, they have the nerve to do something like that.

first of all blackout rules have existed for decades. nothing "new" about them.

As far as the whole CBS/Fox thing. Most of the time one one of them has an early late game at a time. Very few weeks will both have both an early and late game.

for those interested about games on TV in thier area

You know, I really have no idea and thats part of my attitude. I check all week long and know what games are DUE on what channels at what times. The night before I check my tvguide.com and it says TBA, and my on screen guide as well. Then Sunday morning and the guide is updated and there's golf and judge judy on instead of the 4pm game on Fox.

I have watched the Bills play two times and think there is reason to still have some hope.

the league should rescind the blackout rules for this season.

Are you sure they are not new? I know they used to exist back in the old days, but I've been hearing a lot of talk on the radio about it this year so I figured they were being implemented in some different way.

Tom_PM 09-30-2009 10:02 AM

Gator, yep and for me it's been the worst luck. There are too many NY area based football teams! So I miss the games I want and get stuck with other peoples favorites I'm sure.. but which I dont give a rats ass.. bah humbug.

Can't you call your cable company and ask them what's up? If not just get DirecTV Sunday Ticket. It's a bit steep though at about 300 bucks.

We need a QB that can throw to TO. Check down Trent and his man lover Dick Jauron have to go before the Bills make it anywhere.

+ t.o needs to run his routes properly and catch footballs when they are thrown to him\

I'm 100% sure. And it's the exact same as it's always has been. A team has to sell out 72 hours before kick off. If they are close when that 72 hours deadline comes they can ask for a 24 hour extention. The only difference this year is that fewer people are going to games, thus you are getting more blackouts.

Add another $100 if you want to see the games in HD.

it's Jauron who is destroying Edwards. i think Edwards could be a very good NFL QB but he is too close to Jauron, he is playing QB exactly the way Jauron coaches. How they gave him a new contract is beyond me. Stupidest move ever.

team is owned and run by a senile 90 year old man - it shows.

You may or may not be right. I don't think Trent has what it takes regardless of DJ to be anything more then a serviceable QB.

The problem is we may never know the answer to this question because I think they are both gone after this year.

I agree 100% on your owner comment. It starts at the top. As a season ticket holder I am really tired of his shit.

Tom_PM 09-30-2009 10:13 AM

Nah, not that into football. But it's annoying when you dont know until sunday morning. At least it's not as bad as the 80's when the syndex rules would actually black out games and show nothing but the blackout screen with a note, lmao.

So frustrating. Lifelong (born in DC) fan and it's been so painful. The Snyder years have been one disappointment after another - and this year figures to be another debacle. Beaten by Detroit to snap their 19 game losing streak - FAIL. Nice work.:helpme:error:anon

Giants mother fuckers. Eli is looking to be in championship form. If the G-men could keep the starters off the injured reserve. They will be good to go.

I have mad respect for you browns fans. You people are hard core.

You're like the Raider nation, loyal as hell but without the previous winning history or the psycho violence. :D

We gave ours up this season after 12 years of supporting the Glaziers... :321GFY

The money is MUCH better spent supporting USF on club seats for the Bulls! Especially after they just kicked the Noles in the sack! :1orglaugh

THIS is exactly why God invented college football!

In the Dolphins defense, I don't think anyone expected them to repeat the magic of last season. They have a much tougher schedule, and the Parcells Regime has always said they are targeting season 3 as their breakout year.

If Chad Pennington didn't fall in our laps last year we would have been awful, and no one would be expecting much from this season. Even with all of Pennington's magic of last season the fact remained he is a weak armed quarterback that was just keeping the seat warm until Chad Henne was ready. Now that Henne is in the driver's seat this year will be all about his development, and I wouldn't be surprised if next year we are right back in the mix...

After Shock Media 09-30-2009 08:54 PM

It is hard being a Raiders fan.

cosis 09-30-2009 09:52 PM

I am a Brown's fan, better doing this for years

PornMD 09-30-2009 10:17 PM

Chargers have started 2-1 but I have a really bad feeling about this season. We'll probably barely miss wildcard while Broncos win the division. It's one thing if your team always flat out sucks, but Chargers have been such a heartbreaker in the past several years for all the talent they've had with nothing to show for it except a few generally weak playoff appearances. Tired of saying "this'll be the year".
