Do you guys pay any attention to www.thestatistician.com when choosing sponsor programs??? Seems like if these guys were even close to accurate or comprehensive that there are only a few programs even worth looking at. The top proggies on their lists are always 5-10 X better than all others in $/click and conversion ratios.

What gives? Is it accurate?
If so, everyone would be promoting pornkings and primecash and basically nothing else.

The stats are extremely useful, especially when looking at what kind of hits a sponsor shows and what kind of conversions you can do. I rate TheStatistician...

We do NOT shave. And yes, you should all be promoting us :)

Anyone could have thestatistician test them and add sales to the account.

Now that you have to pay to be tested, I do not put much into the results of it.

being one of the people that Pays for TRAFFIC from the statistician I can tell you that on our end the ranking is fair. We pre-pay them for the traffic that they send to our sites.

Most deals I cut with WM's are for $35 per join but because our normal join rate is $30 they will only accept $30 per join in the testing.

I know for sure that Meatman and Aga run it a cleanly as is possible. I certainly can't comment on added joins to improve rankings.

In the past, I have used sponsors near the top of the Statistician list.

But thinking about it, if the sponsor knows the Statistician's affiliate code, he would never shave them, and may throw a few extra sign ups their way. So it is pretty meaningless.

Plus if the text link is 'free movies click here' or 'sponsor site $39.95 per month' makes a dramatic difference to the conversion ratio. So it can be easily manipulated.

What is maybe more interesting is to see which niches convert the best. Even if individual sponsor ratios are fiddled, when aggregated out, the niche statistics may be more meaningful.

TheStatistician is a bit of a joke.. but the idea is good..

I personally think the smarter webmasters would hunt down less known programs like juicybucks.com to find unsaturated conversions..

I have a little bit for girlfucksguy.. but obviously the content is hard to find.. and some isnt the best quality... Im sure i can drum up some for ulrampegs

Personally I don't think one can trust "third party ranking" if the person being ranked knows exactly what account is being used.

I mean say I was a sponsor getting ranked....I know account X is what Statiscian is using to do the ranking...I watch the stats closely...perhaps inflate the number of signups a bit to better my ratio =) What's an extra $500 payout or so to get bumped up to the top 10 in converting....especially if it draws in webmasters like free food.

Why anyone still cares about conversion ratios by sponsers or third parties is beyond me. There is only one accurate conversion ratio and that is from YOURSELF. There are so many factors that can affect the ratio like your traffic, your promotion style, ect. Finding what someone else's ratio is means jack! The only true way to compare conversions between 2 sponsers is total sales/outclicks.
