why can i only save as .bmp???
 

this is driving me crazy
when i right click on any image anywhere on the web and try to "save picture as..."
the only option i get is to save as a .bmp

i need to save as jpg and gif abviusly - so how do i stop this

I have no idea how or why it started - it just happened today !

clear your temp folder

go to ie - tools - internet options then delete cookies and temp files and restart ie and youll be just fine

rebooting always fixes that for me

Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Files

cant be unless you use a third party tool that automated it everytime you shut down

heh yes this is a problem for me too, i think it happened when one of those automated windows xp updates happened. Its a pain in the ass, having everything saved as 'untitled.bmp'

Some sites do that and others don't though. Its strange. What I do is just right click from the thumbnail SAVE TARGET AS and then it will save it as the JPG like you want.

Thing is, can anyone answer the question
