Does Google Penaliza Your Site for a Pop Up or Pop Under?

I finally decided to add a pop-under to a few of my blogs. I set a cookie to pop under once every 24 hours.

Does Google care about the pop under or pop up?

My guess is that Google knows but does really care.

What are your thoughts?

From my exp they don't care in normal listings.. its just part of doing business.

If you buy adwords though, they very much care.

I have had them running for about one year and have noticed no dropoff in Google. :2 cents:

I heard about the Ads words because that make sense.

Any SEO experts out there with a theory about pop up or under.

The only way it may hurt is if the pop you pop is hosted on a sketchy domain.

I had a site disappear from a 3 yr spot a week after adding a sponsors i-frame, removal of the frame brought back results in about the same time (week).
