What do adult hosting companies pay for bandwidth? (THEIR COST, NOT YOURS)
If you had to guess. What do you think a mbps costs each of the top 10 hosting companies in adult.
If you have any inside knowledge please post the following carriers pricing per mbps, or per gbps. And post any that i missed. AT&T Hurricane Electric Global Crossing (GBLX) Level 3 Communications Qwest Sprint Verizon Business (formerly UUNET) Savvis TeliaSonera Time Warner Telecom (recently merged with Xpedius) Cogent Communications |
Each of those providers negotiates one on one with each host but an estimate across the board for an adult host with a large base would be 1.50 to 2 per mbps
|
Hosting providers employ bands of gypsies to mystically weave bandwidth from thin air, and as such, it's wholly inexpensive for them.
|
gotta be cheap as fuck...
no guess.. but CHEAP AS FUCK. |
It's completely different from company to company as their commitment are different. I'm sure around .50 to 2 is the going rate for a decent commit.
|
I'd like to see everyone post their guess as to how much their hosting company gets charged per mbps.
|
Both their commitment level and their geographic location make a huge difference.
One may pay five times as much as another. There is, however, a definite minimum, what the major backbones charge. That's how you can know that a deal which seems to be to good to be true, like "unlimited bandwidth" is in fact not true - any host who actually charged much less than most discount hosts, without any "catch" or scam, would broke paying their bandwidth bills. |
