If you're over her ... then I'd say that is cool of your friend. Many friends wouldn't be that considerate.

If you're not over her, then you should say it's not cool and your friend should know you well enough to understand where you're coming from. Then, if he still does it, asking you in the first place was only for show because it really never mattered what the answer was...and he's really just interested in letting you know that he's banging your ex.
