my friends mom just got a new s2000, its quicka dn has a 9000 rpm redline but she still gets beat all the time cuz it has no torque. my suggestion is go with the audi.....post pics after you get it too:)

Cohen 12-09-2002 12:33 PM

I have a '01 TT Turbo.
It corner on rails and is a JOY to drive, if you like driving. If you want to CRUISE buy the honda, but if you want speed and handeling, get the AUDI.
Before the TT I had a Audi S2. the TT is quicker around corners, but is missing some power compared with my old S2

PaulSweet 12-09-2002 12:33 PM

Audi TT all the way.

Couple of months ago I test drove the nissan z350, miata and the s2000. Ive never driven the TT. Out of the 3, the 350 was the shit, and was only $26k. miata was shit right out of the box, and s2000 was nice. But compare the TT to the z350.

BradShaw 12-09-2002 01:26 PM

Both are too small, you have to be like 5-6 150lbs.

sweetcuties 12-09-2002 01:29 PM

I just bought an Audi TT in Aug and I'm 100% happy. The car is lots of fun to drive plus the girls like it... here's some pics

I have this one for almost 2 months now

Perfect car, fast as hell :)

TheFLY 12-09-2002 02:13 PM

Cadillac XLR:

<img src="http://auto.consumerguide.com/images/auto/editorial/xlr.jpg">

The XLR will be fitted with a high performance version of Cadillac's 4.6 liter Northstar V-8, with 32 valves, dual overhead cams and screaming redline power of 315 hp.

Pack that much power into a car that'll likely weigh only a few hundred pounds more than a Corvette (probably around 3800 pounds total) and the XLR should be capable of 0-60 mph in the mid-five-second range (quicker than a Lexus SC430 or Mercedes SL500) and be capable of a top speed close to 170 mph, sans any speed-limiting chip in the computer, however.

It depends: are you a gay homosexual or a driver? Driver - S2ooo, gay homo - Audi.

Nydahl 12-09-2002 04:10 PM

Audi TT - you are a woman?
Think about Porsche Boxster

Pornwolf 12-09-2002 04:33 PM

Both are very female cars...

unless you live in Canada... having a convertible up there takes courage.:1orglaugh

xxxcam 12-09-2002 04:57 PM

honda all the way :winkwink:

xxxcam 12-09-2002 05:05 PM

audi tt looks like a damn beetle :(

yellofello 12-09-2002 05:16 PM

another honda owner here. the tt brings a lot of good qualities to the table but unless you like people confusing you in an upside down bathtub, get something else:Graucho j/k... after i got my car i sat in the tt and its a completely different feeling. if you like any sort of luxury, go german. if you've got a thing for going deaf via engine noise, get the honda

and to be realistic about it, if you're about 6 feet then your knees are gonna be spending a lot of time in the dash (unless you're riding shotgun) since the s2k doesn't have tilt steering whereas u can move the tt's steering column up/down & closer/farther

strobi 12-09-2002 05:22 PM

S2K for sure!!! defntly...

bagel 12-09-2002 05:38 PM

i have an audi , but out of your 2 choices would go with the s2000
unless your getting automatic transmission

maxic678 12-09-2002 05:47 PM

how about subaru wrx sti huh?

primo DM 12-09-2002 05:54 PM

i still like the SLK320

but thats just my:2 cents:

yellofello 12-09-2002 05:56 PM

yeah i heard that you can rip the top off without too much struggle in a wrx:thumbsup
but ripping the shit out of mountain roads more than makes up for it

Lane 12-09-2002 05:58 PM

too many people died in the TT's.. its not a very safe car.. i heard this from several different sources..

Rockstar 12-09-2002 06:06 PM

The Honda S2000 is by far the better buy when it comes to RESALE value (In USA At Least)
Awesome car, Great Resale Value, Fun To Drive And a REAL LADY Getter. It just screams Style :)

lagwagon 12-09-2002 06:26 PM

bullshit. the honda is ranking much higher in terms of handling. crack any roadster review from road and track or car and driver.

http://www.caranddriver.com/xp/Caran...test_bendi.xml

as far as straight line speed, the honda smokes the TT. from road and track:

audi tt - 0-60: 6.6 1/4 mile: 17.9
s2000 - 0-60: 5.5 1/4 mile: 14.2

The S2000 isn't for everyone. it was designed to pay homage to honda's racing history (particularly F1). but it's a great car (and bargin) if you appreciate sports cars.

I can't believe this
some dumbfucks on this board will trade a german brand that's been making cars for almost 100 years for a japaneese piece of shit that started making cars yesterday

SickFinga 12-09-2002 07:40 PM

S2k seriously lacks of torque and high reving engines are not that reliable and comfortable.

quiet 12-09-2002 07:42 PM

lol. yeah, honda is known for their unreliable engines.

SickFinga 12-09-2002 07:44 PM

no honda is very reliable, but what kills engine???? REVS, and reving it to 9k is not a very nice thing to do

reving to 9K is a VERY nice thing to do. i do it almost daily in the summer - in my S2000. the F1-like sound is incredible :glugglug

volante 12-09-2002 07:50 PM

Here's a novel idea - why not test drive both, and go with the one you prefer? The only person who has your driving style is you, so the only person who can decide which is best for you, is you :thumbsup

I've driven both - the TT is a better day to day car, but the S2000 is much more fun on the limit!

But I'd still rather have a WRX STi over the TT, and a Lotus Elise over the S2000 :winkwink:

it's called gearing, and it makes more a difference than you think

i totally agree. though the elise is almost a 'track-only' car. and not available where i live anyway.

SickFinga 12-09-2002 07:58 PM

it is called lack of torque from a 4cyl engine.

Doctor Dre 12-09-2002 07:58 PM

OH MY FUCKING GOD THAT'S LIKE THE PIMPEST CAR EVER LIKE THAT !!! I never saw convertible one
