More Americans Hating Canada: HATE IS SPREADING
CBC Online article gets angry U.S. response
Last Updated Mon, 09 Dec 2002 13:53:51 TORONTO - A CBC News Online story on Canadians going to Iraq to serve as "human shields" in the event of an attack on Iraq has provoked a storm of outrage from Americans. 'Wake up Canada before your ass is blown up' "My wife and I were planning a trip to the Atlantic coast provinces of Canada for late spring 2003," writes David Samuel of Baltimore, Maryland. "In light of the Canadian citizens who plan to use themselves as 'human shields' against Saddam we have decided to vacation elsewhere. Our preference will be a country free of such morons." FROM DEC. 5, 2002 Canadians go to Baghdad as 'human shields' The story ? a CBC News Online "Backgrounder" ? was titled "Canadians go to Baghdad as 'human shields.'" FROM DEC. 6, 2002 Canadians polarized on support for war: poll The CBC News Online article was picked up by the Drudge Report in the U.S. and featured prominently during the weekend. It described the growing antiwar movement against a U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. The story said two Canadians ? Jennifer Ziemann and Irene Vandas, both from Vancouver ? were going to Baghdad to serve as human shields. The story also said the Canadians would join 20-40 Americans and some antiwar protesters from Britain, who have also gone to Baghdad to serve as human shields. The main sponsor of the antiwar protest is Voices in the Wilderness, a U.S. group based in Chicago. More letters: Frank Tricario of Seattle, Washington: "The Canadian morons who have gone to Iraq as human fodder deserve to be blown up. Your nation is not under attack. We Americans will defend our people and will destroy any terrorist nation be it Iraq or whomever. Wake up Canada before your ass is blown up. Grow up and face this religious war." Joseph Ames Jr., Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania: "'I'm not too scared,' Vandas told CBC News Online the day before she left. I think it will be a powerful experience.' It will be a powerful experience for this twit, alright. It will be the power of a 500 kg Smart Bomb landing on her apparently empty skull...." Roy Patrick, Bakersfield, California: "It's too bad that so many misguided Canadians feel the need to physically involve themselves in opposition to our war against terrorism. Where were these folks when 3,000 people were murdered in New York? Saddam Hussein is a despot the world can, and should, do without. In the opinion of our leaders he is the head of the worldwide terror network...." Norine Holland, Hampton, Virginia: "I am an American who had great respect for Canadians, having grown up in a border city and spent many, many hours in your country as a family member of hockey players and figure skaters. I hope Canada understands that Americans are FED UP with militarily defending your socialistic freedom, while you stab us in the back...." Jeff Zeller, Washington, D.C.: "Each new day sees more and more Americans come to the realization that Canada is our enemy." |

Why are they lumping all Canadians in with these two morons that want to be human shields?
I hope they go over there and the U.S. soldiers shoot the hell out of them. We don't want them back! |

Regardless of your country of origin, or your political ideology, those Canadians are doing something more courageous then you'll ever do in your pathetic lecherous life. They are putting their LIVES on the line. At least they have the courage to stand up for what they believe in...unlike yourself...who I'm sure just takes and takes and takes from this world without ever giving ANYTHING back. You sir, are an ignoramus. :321GFY |
Its called freedom of speech. We have it.
Some people are against war. Some are for it. The same things exists in the USA - I'm sure if I do a google search I can find loads of Americans against war in Iraq.... Its just mainstream media's choice to focus on creating controversy. |

yeah, that's the guy. sorry to alarm John Tucker, who was a good citizen while playing for the Lightning. |

OK, that's 2 stupid Canadian and 20-40 stupid Americans, OR 2 Canadians and 20-40 Americans exercising their free speech. Your choice. Bottom line; there are anti-war protesters EVERYWHERE! |

If they want to die to protect the scum in Iraq then more power to them. As a Canadian, I don't want to be lumped in with their kind. When some crazed terrorist starts setting off bombs in my country I want the U.S. on my side. You sure can make a lot of assumptions about me based on two paragraphs on a message board. You are the ignorant one. And people didn't sit back and let the holocaust happen, retard. What do you think all the fighting was about? |
two Canadians are going to Iraq, to join with 20-40 Americans....
|
UPDATE: Americans dont hate Canada. They hate Canadians. President Bush will be lauching an air strike tomorrow night to take over Canada and rid the world of evil Canadians.
|
This is so silly and it's gone on way too long. Canada and the US are like two step brothers verbally fighting all the time. I like Canada and Canadians. I was just there this weekend. Why do we always point out the differences when there are so many similarities?
If a group of Canadians wants to protest the war by putting themselves in the way, that's their life they are risking, more power to them. But they shouldn't expect that will change a government's will to do what they think is in the country's best interest. |
Canadians will do anything to get us to notice them.
Hey, what ever happened to Troy Crowder? He kicked the ass of every tough guy in the league and then just vanished. probably another canadian plot. |
